I suck at remembering video game titles. but strangely i managed to get all the 56 by just guessing :megaman:

stargate, discs of tron (thought it was megaman too but then I noticed that the arrow was pointing at the "discs" and not the character and that it was one the "tron part" of the picture),and the one with the snake is Super Cobra.

Ugh, I slapped my forehead irl when I read

, I'm so disappointed in myself for not getting that. How does "Snake in soup" lead to

I have 40/56. This is less of a test of videogames than a test of your ability to figure out what word they're trying to imply, like the R at a computer for example. Some of these are just kinda brain-dead, though. There's one at the top pointing at a fire truck. The answer is "fire truck". Is there some game out there about driving a fire truck? Hell if I know. I didn't have a clue what else it could be so I just guessed. Same with star castle. The most baffling for me though is the one of the cobra in a bowl of soup. I don't have the slightest clue on that one after my guess of "snake eater" (mgs3, and some variations on that) were all wrong. "snake soup"? "Cobra soup"? "Eat snake"? Nope.

There's also a bill gates looking guy with a star on his shirt, and a tron looking dude throwing a frisbee who is neither "tron" nor "ricochet" (nor megaman, though I admit that's kinda a stretch ), no clue on those either.

What's this site it's from all about? ARG?

That's a cool lighter. You know, I was just thinking the other day how rare it is to see a non-Zippo style lighter in a videogame.

As far as I understand it they're not looking specifically for any degree, but rather a college education in general. Never take a job posting's requirements as written in stone, though.

That release date matches up with the game's subtitle pretty well.

Another nice trailer. I feel like that one showed off the "home video" effects nicely, too.

Random aside, did Kane and Lynch 1 get performance improvements in patches? I tried the demo and while it was playable, it felt like it was running in slow-mo. Hitman: Blood Money also ran too slow in the demo, but I bought it when it was on sale later, and patched to 1.2 it ran like a dream for me.

This reminds me of when everyone uses Crysis in DX10 on Ultra High as an example for why the game as a whole wasn't optimized and was shit and PC gaming was dying and oh god. Perhaps Metro 2033 is playable... WITHOUT max settings and depth of field and tessellation?

I'm skeptical as my limited experiences with Impulse (bought Galciv 2 a couple months ago when it was on sale) were pretty negative.

I am entirely distracted by the topic of this thread by the amazement at Harvey Smith for still using the "Witchboy" moniker. I mean, damn. You'd think somewhere along the line he'd go "Man this pseudonym sounds totally awful and I should just go by my real name" somewhere along the line. I mean, back when Deus Ex came out it made for the nice enough title of "Witchboy's Cauldron" for his Deus Ex modding/level design guides posted on Planet Deus Ex, but that was like ten years ago.

$15 for five maps doesn't seem all that crazy ridiculous to me, unless they're bad maps or something. It's not like there's some alternate source of maps for Modern Warfare 2 after all

I don't have any problems with Deus Ex's controls that can't be solved by manually rebinding them. There are worse old school control schemes, look at Thief 1's, or Hitman 1's, or System Shock 1's.

":2tm8km83]yeah! DX1 had health regen as well, well.. kinda. You can install it as a augmentation further down the game. it's a bit different i know, since you exchange a bit of bio-electric energy when you use augs.

And you also had the medbots, food, drinks and health packs. And you can heal separate parts of your body as well.

Man... Dx1 is such a great game, lol.

Yeah, healing was so cheap and available that the only times you died in Deus Ex were the same situations you'd die in if you had infinite regen, but having the health model made for really interesting stuff and tension in fights. I find seeing my head and torso icons on my HUD turn red and signifying I need to quickly use a medkit to be a whole lot more tense, not to mention playable and not super annoying, compared to my entire screen fading red and signifying I need to take a time out now. It's not even like Deus Ex's health system is super archaic and you couldn't get away with it in modern games, seeing as Fallout 3 used it almost exactly, except with an overall HP count on top of the body part health, and I don't recall anyone complaining about that. Stimpacks were cheap and widely available and you could heal up easily by drinking from sinks, but having limb wounds and not having that "time out" mechanic to heal made things feel a whole lot more tense and exciting when you were in a hard fight.

Worried that I was getting too enthusiastic about Deus Ex 3 after yesterday, I looked at some info on the game some more and found again that it has regenerating health. That did the trick.

Where the Hell is the GT review?!

Gametrailers couldn't get anyone on staff to actually run Crysis back in the day, which disqualified it for Best Graphics in their 2007 GOTYs. Do not get your hopes up.

I'd pay good money to see a GT review of The Void, though.

Why was "Deferred lighting" marked as (PC)? Isn't that available running on consoles already via Unreal Engine? Also the Blend Shading effect looked really cool, reminded me of the Silent Hill movie. :

Not really. The game's premise is that you're an army officer sent into the Zone to investigate the failure of a mission. It's a pretty natural assumption to think you'd then leave the Zone once your mission is over.

Anyway, COP's story is pretty dumb, and you'll know almost every single facet of it already if you've played SHOC, it's mostly the outside world learning and being shocked by stuff the stalkers already know and are used to. There are seriously plot points in COP that are treated like important twists that you can overhear in bar conversations in SHOC "Emissions can create new anomalies!? GREAT SCOTT"

    So Montreal then?!

When I read in that ign interview that the game starts in Detroit I laughed pretty hard. Is there no end to the Robocop similarities? Will Jensen have an ex-wife he stalks because he still loves her but she rejects his now machine nature? Will the main bad guy be that guy from That 70's Show and say "Bitches, Leave" at some point in the game? Will a Milbot shoot up an executive boardroom in the game's climax? Will there be a subplot about the company who designed/installed Jensen's robo-bits wanting to pave over the Detroit slums for high class development?

Deus Ex 3: "I'd buy that for a dollar!"
