The more they add to that trailer, the more nonsensical Jensen's narration becomes.

New game from the makers of AaAaAA!!! A Reckless Disregard For Gravity, 1… 2… 3… KICK IT! (Drop That Beat Like an Ugly Baby) (or Kick It for short) is like AaAaAA meets Audiosurf meets Beat Hazard. Procedurally generated cityscapes you fall through, based on your music collection, also you shoot stuff. It's available for preorder now for $9.95, and if you do so you get alpha access.External Content www.youtube.comContent embedded from external sources will not be displayed without your consent.Through the activation of external content, you agree that personal data may be transferred to third party platforms. Heck yes. Also I can't get the video embed to work for some reason.

Jesus Christ, who wrote the design doc for the helicopter in crysis, because the choppers are fucking retarded. I don't think ive encountered a more annoying and poorly thought out enemy vehicle in my entire gaming history. From the first point the chopper joins the game it went from a fun to tedious and shit.It has pin point accuracy.
It is impossible to hide from. Even if you stealth and go somewhere it can't possibly see you it knows where you are.
It detects you if you come within 500ft
It doesn't stop chasing you ever?!
You can't shoot it down with a normal gun.
It takes 5+ grenade launchers (I don't know exactly because hitting it more than 50% of the time with the nade launcher is pretty tough) to destroy it.
Same goes for jeeps and boats too, as soon as they can possibly see you, they have seen you.
I stealthed past the chopper in Crysis, in the night time level. It was all going cloak and sprinting from bush to bush. I found that pretty reliably going prone in a bush hid me from the chopper so I could recharge my suit and move again. It was pretty fun.
Edit: Maybe it's dependent on difficulty level or something, I was playing on Normal.

":2a9wt60q]A dark screenshot with two half vehicles on it, and then one with a tree trunk in the middle?

There are three vehicles in that shot. When did Mapcore start cutting off images instead of dynamically scaling them? Last time I posted a fullsize image here it was scaled down to fit in the browser window until you clicked it.

Far Cry 2 starts off bad and gets good after you slog through the steep learning curve for unexplained functions (how respawning works, how to deal with checkpoints, how buddy rescues work, etc.) and unlocking good weapons. Once you've got the pistol slot grenade launcher, life gets way better.
That screenshot wasn't chosen for pretty, it was chosen for atmosphere
A lot of the impressive stuff in Far Cry 2's graphics, especially the massive fields of grass that sways in the wind and self shadows, is simply impossible to properly show in screenshots. It all ends up looking muddled and random when it isn't in motion.[Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/PMWHJ.jpg]

I have roughly 600MB of .png Far Cry 2 screenshots in my FRAPS folder. However, I do not have a Flickr account. Instead, I'll just share one here.

It's like Morrowind!
Game's on max quality, except no AA or DX10 (afaik dx10 in fc2 is just optimization stuff). -

Well if the rest of the digital distribution industry would make their product as good as Steam, this wouldn't be an issue. I've used Steam, Impulse, Direct2Drive, and EA's download manager. Surprisingly, the last one was the most convenient one, and it's still pretty horrible compared to Steam.
Ever try Gamersgate or the Blizzard store, or GOG? They work the same way, you download a small installer .exe that downloads and installs the game. Gog's and GG's are better, since they're not a torrent client so they tie up less resources. I've used Steam, Impulse, GFWL, Gamersgate, GOG, and Blizzard store. Good Old Games and Gamersgate are by far the best solution. Impulse and GFWL are terrible. No options, stupid clumsy client, they beg to be directly compared to Steam and both come up sorely lacking.
Also I got Gears of War 1 and The Witcher today. Gears of War 1 is absolutely atrociously terrible, and it killed my enthusiasm for games a bit, so I haven't touched The Witcher. Seriously, how could anyone think enemies that take 2+ clips of ammo each to die is fun? Shit's horrid. And you have 1/10th their health so good luck running up for chainsaw kills. And you can't that I could tell cook the grenades, and the enemies would all run away from them as they landed, dodging them most of the time. And you lose all ability to steer when you sprint. Playing as Marcus Fenix couldn't feel less fun to play if he had no legs and I had to control crawling around on the ground QWOP style.

just bought bf: bad company 2 to find out steam actually will not register most of the retail gamekeys. im growing tired of the restrictions steam has over its consumers because of the monopoly they have on the game market.
Bawww, steam won't let me use their bandwidth for free!
You can't expect to be entitled to retail game keys activating on Steam. They get no part of that retail purchase, if you can activate a key it's a deal organized between Valve and the publisher for the convenience of the consumer. It's a bonus, not a standard. If you want the game on Steam, you should expect to have to buy the game on Steam. The list of games that can be activated on Steam with their keys is only a couple dozen out of hundreds of games they sell that also have retail versions.I mean, I'd love to be able to register all my games on Steam so I can stop digging out the Deus Ex CD when I want to install it (I've already got two physical copies I'm not buying a third off Steam, not even for $2.50!), but I realize that there's nothing in it for Valve to offer me that service for free.

Ooh!

So are both expansions tied together story-wise? I.e. do I need to also buy Clear Skies to understand what's going on in CoP?
Clear Skies is kinda like a proto-CoP gameplay-wise. Story-wise it's a prologue that pretty much exists purely to explain how Strelok lost his memory for Shoc. It has nothing to do with CoP.

Darryl Still, the international publishing director for 1C, the major Russian game publisher, has written an opinion piece on this topic.
http://www.mcvuk.com/features/808/OPINI ... l-vs-Steam
It's a pretty incredible slam dunk for digital distribution and an attack on retailers for how they already treat PC games in stores.
QuoteWhat is more surprising is the reaction of retail now. I have read it described as the reaction of a small child who threw his toy away because he no longer wanted it, but started screaming as soon as another child picked it up to play with. The metaphor works perfectly, especially in the light of the excuse I heard on numerous occasions.‘There is no demand’ went the mantra. But is this really true? Not in our experience.
I remember fondly the meeting in my office with a red-faced publisher who was explaining why their initial order from a major retailer for one of our new releases was just 30 units. At the time I had my browser open on the Steam product data page, which updates sales numbers every few minutes.
“They have taken one unit for each of their top 30 stores” he told me. “There is just no demand from their customers”.
I glanced at my screen, hit refresh and advised him: “In the time it’s taken you to tell me that there is no demand, Steam has sold 45 units”.
Quoteon a sale over the counter today, we can have our £3 by the end of March, or on a digital sale, we can have £20 by Christmas.

I got Age of Empires 3 yesterday. Haven't played it. I enjoyed being the pessimistic, bemused PC gamer during my experience with GFWL, though. I had to accept the Xbox Live TOS, and after the purchase they sent me a confirmation email telling me that in order to play my game, I need to go to "My Xbox" on the Xbox dashboard.
Way to put in the real effort, Microsoft. I'm sure this version of GFWL will be so much more successful than the last iterations.

Lol.
I don't understand why the RC car is so popular. It gets you one chance at a kill, compared to the spy plane, which gets you and your entire team a bunch of chances at kills.
Personally though right now my loadout is SAM, sentry gun, care package, because I'm trying to unlock Hardline Pro's "shared packages" challenge

I want to get this, but ubi drm...

I picked up black ops on the Wii for a laugh. It's such a broken game. Very little though went into the controls, for example there's no pointer control for most of the menus anymore (mw reflex had this), and you can't have individual sensitivity per class or anything neat like that. Not being able to adjust your classes at all while ingame sucks. Bug-wise, the game uses p2p hosting like most console multiplayer games, and if you end up the host, the demand on your poor little Wii is just far too great for it, and you get massive stuttery performance issues, making the game unplayable. In every single game there's one player that has this curse, and frequently they quit because of it, and there's no host migration or anything, you just get: "Match End: Host Ended Game". This drastically reduces the player count, because nobody can get a good match unless you get a host dumb enough to stick around with those issues. This makes the less popular game modes (read: Anything besides Team Deathmatch, which is at the top of the playlist menu and thus the main thing everyone plays) barren, which makes getting challenges and perks that require, say, capturing flags or planting bombs impossible to get. If there are any Wii players with Marathon Pro out there (which requires a certain number of flag captures to unlock), they must have used cheats to get it.
Treyarch's saying there will be a patch out next week. No clue how the process of patching a Wii game would work.

Inventory tetris! Yay!
Also lol at the Terminator time travel moment in the beginning of that video.

Painterly for me.
It works right with the ingame "custom textures" menu because it's 16x16, and looks damn nice. You can customize it to your liking as well. I like it with darker stone textures.
