They didn't ban the game, Thailand's largest game retailer pulled it from store shelves. Big difference.
While the porn star makes you feel like they're desperate for attention because the game isn't shaping up to be all that good...
There was a shot in there of someone getting tossed towards a jet engine.
They have my attention.

This album. Fuck yea DRM free digital music distribution. My only complaint is that the full album download is titled "mp3.zip". I could see that becoming an annoying issue if you're buying multiple albums at once. There are other options though like FLAC and WAV so I guess you could just get a CD of every flavor. ![]()
Quote from HourencesYes FX are particles and such, and I don't mean just placing them, but also really creating the particles and all that stuff.
Did you mean the same when for the "modeling the environment" and "texturing" questions? Creating models and textures? I answered both of those thinking it was creating the architecture in editor, and applying textures to geometry.
I know that's what it's typically used for, but it's an extremely vague term when you're talking about videogames
The best idea for what he means I have is placing stuff like sparks and fire in the map, but I can't imagine that's something that wouldn't just fall to the mapper to place in as entities once the effects artist creates them along with the geometry and gameplay scripting. They're basically animated decoration when you get right down to it.
I've got a demo CD of a band called Mellow Commotion from the Philadelphia area. The sound's sort of light acoustic rock with a good, happy beat, I liked it a lot, but sadly the band broke up shortly after that demo CD was published. I could rip it and stick it on Youtube because that seems to be an OK way to share music if anyone's interested.
The other lesser known band I like is an Australian band called Machinegun Fellatio. I have no clue how popular they might be in Australia, I suspect they might be pretty popular, but I've never met another fan in the US. I was introduced to them by a New Zealand friend.

I totally half-assed this- it was a spur of the moment thing I decided to when what I had planned fell through because my computer's a total piece of shit and can't handle Hammer with the Orange Box engine and a map that scale. I like how it turned out, though. It's got potential. It's got a feel to it. Gonna expand it, make the bend closer to the image, add the house you can just barely see through the tree branches, and a skybox, see where I go from there.
Quote from FrieChampThe question whether it is a 'good' or 'bad' idea is straight down to the numbers. The real question to me is who they will team up with to get the hardware together, I mean EA is no hardware manufacturer or distributor, at least up till now. Have they signed a deal with DELL or do they plan to buy all hardware components, build the machines themselves and sell them under a very own EA Hardware label?
Not like they don't have the resources to open a warehouse, sign a bulk purchase deal with some component manufacturers such as ASUS, Intel, Gigabyte, etc. and hire some Chinese to stick them together and install Windows.
I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and wait until I hear their stats and pricing to judge the move. At the very least they can't do worse than Dell, since that's physically impossible. ![]()

I never played the original Bionic Commando.
My library of NES games as a kid was limited and select, so the farthest outside the main NES games EVERYONE had I think the least known title I ever had was Ninja Turtles. ![]()
Oh, and I think I had Battletoads.
(That game was hard!)
Oh, I did. I just wanted to say something snarky.

I'm starting to become concerned, I'm developing a frightfully strong addiction to this cookie. It's one of the best tasting things I've ever had, and it's only a dollar, and I can get it five minutes from my house in copious quantities, and... :megamon:
When I got a couple (Okay, four) tonight, I actually tried to explain to the guy why I was buying a big stack of cookies at 4 in the morning. He didn't say a word besides "Credit or Debit". ![]()
Oh, I think I'd be pretty antithesis to the concept of a CSS map. I hate AWP whores, so I'd design the fucker with tight spaces, blind corners, ankle-height views into areas that are designed to lure snipers...
Set it in an industrial basement or some shit.
Not the kind of environment that suits itself to pretty.
The ZM map I've got is four blocks at a crossroad, with a grocery at one corner, a bank at another, an apartment building, and a small park, with the human players spread out in the buildings and the zombie master assaulting them. Two groups of survivors, those on the top floors and those on ground level/street are cut off from each other and have to work together to provide a proper defense.
Gonna see if I can make it look good with a) the buildings fully fleshed out and realistic seeming, and b) A dark and stormy night. ![]()
