I just found out STALKER has a "mental health" bar.
Now I want to make a STALKER Shadowrun Total Conversion.
Seriously, it would work. Only thing you'd need to add is a spell inventory screen (easy), karma and stats (pretty easy), and matrix (Erm...). You've already got moody, futuristic supernatural mercenary behavior in a lawless land setting!
Come to think of it, there are even more similarities between STALKER and the Genesis version of Shadowrun than I at first though.
STALKER is basically 3d Shadowrun with Russian dialog and radiation, if you break it down.

Nothing. I'm on stalker staff but not on clear sky which means...

I for one hope STALKER 2 is set in the 1920's and based on the Tunguska event.

Or maybe you can partner with a Japanese studio and make a JRPG set in Nagasaki and Hiroshima!
Edit: American Midwest, 1940's, Manhattan Project.

I'm still waiting to play Kane and Lynch. A friend and I are big fans of IO games and as soon as I get a comp capable of playing it, we're gonna go through it coop.
I really, really liked Freedom Fighters, it's one of my favorite games, and Kane and Lynch from the sounds of it is basically Freedom Fighters plus mercenaries and coop and swearing, so I don't see what could go wrong.

Do more missions I think. Then you could ask them. ps. duty sucks, freedom rocks!
Duty is friends to the scientists, and any friends of the scientists are friends of mine.
Plus, Freedom haven't approached me or talking to me in any way except for a brief visit to talk to their cook. They're out of the way. Missable. Duty I have to walk past a few dozen of every time I go to the Bar. It would be SUCH a hassle to side with Freedom.

I'm getting annoyed by the static respawning of guys in certain areas, like the bandits outside the train station in Garbage. It's like there's some huge bandit base between Agropom and Garbage not on the map intent on trickling guys into the nearby areas whenever I come near so they can throw their lives away. Whenever I return to the Agropom underground the area where I fought the controller is restocked with soldiers, which is just perplexing- I liked the way X18 worked better. I returned to the factory overtop it a couple days after I did that mission, and do I find it restocked with bandits? No! It now has a giant army of rats, pseudodogs, and bloodsuckers!

There were a few bandits at their base on the northern side of Dark Valley, but they were very busy trying to fend off a large pack of dogs and psuedodogs when I stopped by.

Two questions: How do I join a faction (in SHOC)? I've got all the Duty guys friends with me somehow, but I'm still in the group "loner" and nobody's forwarding me an invite.
Second: What's the blue lung bar on the equipment screen for?

I bought a 24 pack of bottled water at request and carried it home 3/4 of a mile yesterday.
I broke my MP3 player's headphones, dropped half my shit, and my shoulders and back are still very painful and stiff.

I also got some everlasting gobstoppers.

You know what would be awesome? If IO Interactive made Deus Ex 3.
Just think about it. Both are in cahoots with Eidos! It could work!

Oh man, Deus Ex in the Blood Money engine.

The retail copies of Clear Sky are already out on store shelves. The Steam delay is unique to Steam. It also happened like three hours before they said they were gonna release the game, and APPARENTLY the GSC guys didn't know about it?

-
Best case scenario this is a huge loss in sales for Steam, worst case scenario a huge loss of overall sales to piracy. Really, really bad move.

So I was in Bar, at around 1 AM. Just stripped down to nothing but a pistol, a bandage, and five endurance+ artifacts planning on making a run to clear out the train station stash and sell it to the barman. As I'm leaving the Bar, I hear "Get out of here, STALKER"... and start to wonder what'd happen if I stealth killed that dude. I quicksave, climb up, knife him, he goes flying backwards as my PDA chirps... and then the game freezes my computer. I reboot... and after the BIOS screen I see nothing but a blinking command prompt.

A second reboot fixed it, but now I can say with certainty that there is no game that has scared me as much as STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl because for a minute there I thought it had wrecked my computer.
Also, I got the SEVA suit from Wild Territory. Fuck yeah. I was wondering about having to take my Stalker Suit and the Scientist Suit down to X18 because I knew I'd have to deal with enemies and anomalies and radiation, but now I've got a suit that does environmental and enemy protection better than both combined!

Um, there is 1 X-com game missing.I think it's called X-Com 3, it had an 3d engine etc. waaay back in time.
And no, I'm not thinking of Aftermath

Btw., I believe X-Com and X-Com TFTD are freeware these days...
X-com 3 was X-com: Apocalypse.
And neither are freeware. They used to be abandonware, but 2K Games bought the license and is now selling them again. They're full commercial games once again and you'd be a horrible evil monster to download them.

Xcom- UFO Defense, Terror from the Deep, Apocalypse, Interceptor, and Enforcer, all for just $15. First good thing to pop up on Steam in a few weeks, and it's TOTALLY AWESOME.

Got a 14. Shit that was hard.

Gonna link it to my colorblind friend.

Isn't that the same as STALKER 1 then?

2.4 hour cycle is pretty good though. Nice and long. I think Pathologic had the same time scale.
Makes each day feel significant and lets you enjoy the sights without watching the sun visibly fly across the sky. -

None of Lightmaps needed recalulating i guess
Stalker weather settings are pretty flexible and you can modify all this stuff with variables. Nights in Clear Sky are almost as dark as those from the mod you mentioned and they last longer (full 24h cycle). It seems that 3DA has even disabled mipmappings there
But there are new static shadows for everything depending on the time of day. Before the only difference between the times of day were the sky at night it got a bit darker like with color correction or something.
Time in Clear Sky is real time? :monocle:
*checks* Apparently ATI Tray Tools was forcing Mipmaps into "High performance mode" *changes that to "Quality"*

I'm gonna assume you mean what I'm gaming on now, though I do have a number of very old PCs in the attic such as a Pentium Pro

Pentium 4
1 GB DDR
PCI Radeon 9250
WinXP
I paid a whole $200 for it three years ago, gaming strong ever since!1!!1

Whats going on with your gun in the first pictures
All my primary weapons (that I've seen so far, at least), and about half the pistols are invisible, the gun hand flickers in and out of existence, most of the time not there, and about 1/3 of the polygons average on character models and monsters are invisible. It's a glitch from running STALKER through 3dAnalyzer and forcing it to run on a below minimum requirement video card (because GSC half-assed DX8!
).I've played a full 24 hours ingame with the SWO (Stalker weather overhaul) mod, and holy shit does this look better in every way than default STALKER, and with not a single performance issue, to boot! As far as I can tell they pretty much recalculated the lightmaps everywhere for every time of day to fit the new settings, and it looks amazing.
Here's the same picture as above, last one I posted, 12 hours later:
