It's awesome.
I'm upgrading to this from a 17" CRT and the difference is night and fucking DAY. Took me forever to find a good wallpaper in 1440x900 though. Here's what I ended up with:

Quote":2qdp1cfd]Well, you don't need a huge plasma TV, but a decent TFT with HD (preferably 1080p) is a must to enjoy this current gen console games.
But most console games are in 720p ![]()
The biggest complaint I've heard about this game is that there are checkpoints all over the place on the main roads, with guards posted, and they're all hostile to you ALWAYS. They respawn pretty much instantly if you move away, or if you begin or end a mission- so if you have a convoy attack mission, and end it with you standing at a checkpoint, all the bad guys will respawn on top of you out of nowhere.
When's the pc version coming out
Quote from st0lveIf people think that comments about a classic being remade into something else is cynical, then so be it. It's someones personal (and probably more than honest) opinion cause they might like the original game. When a lead designer comes with a statement like that, it's ofcourse doomed to be full of hate.
This.
ESPECIALLY with the current grumblings over no more shadow-based stealth and regenerating health, knocking the original game that you're supposed to be making a valid successor to is not a good idea and this guy probably should've seen this reaction coming.
Honestly, if the guy thinks that the Deus Ex formula is too slow and not memorable enough, fine. Good for him. But he shouldn't be making a game using the Deus Ex formula, then. There are plenty of good games without it, but if you're working on a sequel to one of the most popular PC games ever made, with a huge millions strong rabid fanbase clamoring for years for a similar game all across the internet.... denying them is a very dumb thing to do. Like sticking your hand in a piranha tank.
I seem to remember another PC game doing this recently, hmmm, which one was it again? ![]()
Quote from st0lveUse the spear in your inventory? I've played all kinds of characters, and I always manage to get past the tempel of trails...
ps. New Reno is great.
It had like 20% chance to hit. I made the same character in Fallout 2 that I did in 1, one designed to be able to max perception and agility and shoot everybody ten times in the eye each turn. That character? Yeah, he's not so hot with a goddamn spear. Not too great endurance, either. There are a couple dozen enemies and each did about 1/4 damage, and took 2-3 hits to kill at 20% chance to hit.
Quote from BuddyTemple of Trials is good way to learn mechanics, you had the same thing in Fo1 with rat cave. I dont see a problem in there.
You start Fallout 1 with a gun and knife, and none of the rats are in the way of exiting the cave. It's also only one screen instead of four or so. There are no dead ends or puzzles to solve or items required to find. The space in general is also significantly wider in case you do get in combat with one, there's room to get around and run. You can just walk out into the world and start playing the game without lifting a finger if you don't want to or can't take on a group of rats just yet because you made a non-combatant character.
Quote":2j269zyg]Yeah, I always been curious about that game, although I heard it really sucks. drop a word when you try it
It's pretty cool. Like a B horror movie, don't expect it to be brilliant, but it's fun, the psychologist ghost dude is cool, and it's got a nice pace.
The SEQUEL, now that is shit. No scary bits at all, recycled everything from the last game except with bigger versions you can't kill except in monster mode, and the worst plot twist evar (Stalker totally ripped it off omg)
A dumb reason to delay the game in the first place, a dumb thing to put in the game given the situation (this has happened before, for a lame Xbox fighting game a couple years ago!), and all around very very dumb.
I played the original fallouts and the low res isometric monochromatic brown was a turnoff
Bethesda is faithfully keeping the original color palette, as well as the bugs, at least movement-wise, by the looks of it.
I wonder if Fallout 3 will also take you to a trashy crime ridden city where you can be a porn star. I quit Fallout 2 at that point in the game because it was so boring and monotonous to travel around that area.
Fallout 2 had better roleplaying than Fallout 1 but the level design took a sharp nosedive. It started with that horrible cave filled with scorpions that's impossible to get through as a non-melee character without abusing saves and luck, and didn't get better as it went along.

This album is fucking awesome.
Also free.
Also awesome.
Left 4 Dead GOTY 2008 fuck yeah.
Quote from QuakisIt's a Bethesda game.
Bethesda isn't the same after the release of Daggerfall. Their games got plainer each time in various aspects.
Daggerfall sucked compared to Morrowind, primarily due to engine limitations. Daggerfall was just torture to move around in outdoors.
Besides that, it felt like a traditional, bog standard First person D&D RPG. Morrowind was something special, unique.
Quote from ChunksCasual console players destroying good PC games with every year that passes.
ain't that the truth. ![]()
It's less console players and more console publishers. Console players have shown time and time again they're willing to buy and play complex games like MGS3 and JRPGs and shit (MGS3 made me giddy with delight in how in depth and complex and thought out its functions were
), and consoles can certainly HANDLE complex games, especially now... and yet publishers and developers on the consoles keep pushing to dumb down shit to appeal to that mystical "casual" crowd. See: What happened to Bioshock pre-release because they were afraid RPG elements would somehow cause the game to flop
.
Quote from Steppenwolfaccording to this preview the game is pretty much a big fail:http://%7boption%7d
OMG You linked to No Mutants Allowed ![]()
Can anyone find a review from the pirates with the 360 version? I'd be interested in hearing what non-french people have to say. ![]()
I've got a friend who loves Fallout games that's freaked about Fallout 3, really excited about it. Preordered that super fancy expensive edition with the clock. ![]()

But yeah, the AI does appear to be fairly dumb and plain. ![]()
