Good riddance. I hope his replacement will be better, but I have high doubts on that.

It always made me chuckle that all the guys (even the 'kids') in Kingpin are fat dudes.

So after I finished Call of Pripyat I went to finish Shadow of Chernobyl once again. Have I ever told you how amazing this game is? No? This game is amazing.

It has to be one of the most atmospheric games ever released, only beaten by the likes of Thief and Arx Fatalis in my eyes, but not very far from them either. One of the best parts of the game has to be the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and the following sarcophagus, the very place you've been after the whole game. The atmosphere there is completely nuts and hopeless, you are stuck in a dead, radioactive concrete sepulcher struggling for survival while fighting both the deadly radiations and the equally deadly soldiers defending what may or may not lie in the infamous Reactor #4.

And that deep voice, man. That deep voice. It pounds your brain over and over again. These are the only Russian sentences I can approximately speak.

    Off to Clear Sky now.

Yup, totally. I am less immersed in multiplayer games since players are usually out of character, while the AI always stay that way. Besides I wouldn't want to see some stupid chat messages in a game such as Survarium. While the game looks amazing, and I have no doubts Vostok has a very solid game with an awesome atmosphere, the MMO aspect doesn't really appeal to me. If they can make some dough out of it and make an SP STALKER-like game then I'll gladly support them by buying shit on Survarium.

I started playing Call of Pripyat recently, too. I just got into Pripyat, haven't got much further yet though.

I couldn't help but feel it wasn't as good as SoC though... I'm playing the Complete mod, and it just feels a bit.. empty. I don't know, maybe I'm just viewing SoC through rose tinted glasses or something.

If Complete is the same deal as with SoC, it actually makes the game quite easier. I played CoP with AtmosFear 3 and Absolute Nature 3, and the rest was vanilla, and I found it amazing. The areas were all very well made and the random emissions were pretty scary, especially when you are looking for artifacts in the wilderness with no cover nearby.

I did run into quite a few bugs in the final stages of the game though, one would make the game always crash at some point, for example, but other than that nothing too serious.

I never played Clear Sky, so after I complete SoC again I'll give it a try.

Just finished S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

Too bad Pripyat itself isn't as interesting as the other areas, but one thing is sure:

Time to play Shadow of Chernobyl again!

You can go full rampage if you so desire but it's pretty hard sometimes, especially on the hardest difficulty level.

I find it hard to give credit to some random people on Youtube when I see most of their comments, on any video, not just feminist stuff. I agree with Rick overall. Even if I disliked her video because I think she doesn't bring arguments and just stated examples the whole time, I don't hate the motive at all. I'd like to see a more well thought-out video with more stuff in it and possible solutions to the problem, which she doesn't bring at the moment. But hey, it's a series of videos so it may happen in the future.

One thing I didn't say is that different games target different people, and that what she may find sexist may not be sexist for other people. I know several women who aren't offended by the damsel in distress trope in Mario at all, for instance. What may be interesting is if several other women were invited to talk about it or something, so we can have multiple angles of approach and not just Anita's.

EDIT: Duh I didn't see Wail's reply. I also agree with it.

While I think the subject is noble and worth doing a research on, the video is incredibly shallow and doesn't bring anything new to the table. Quoting Wikipedia and TVTropes is not a research, and I'm baffled to see she needed $150,000 to do this. I'm hoping the next parts will be way better than this, because this one has 0 arguments and uses plain wrong examples at times.

Dunno, I don't mind it and I think it's a welcome change. You have also tons of other styles in the mix, like this:

That cashbox looks out of place though, but Thief 2 did worse in the mission Framed with its very oh-too-modern mess hall. By the way, I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with the DmC reboot where Dante was called Donte by plaers. Thief's Garrett is called Gorrett now.

Several Hammerite structures were definitely gothic, and several buildings were also inspired by gothic architecture (several doorways had gothic arch things on top of them, for instance). It was minor, mind you, but the gothic vibe was still here, and it completely disappeared in Thief 2.
