It looks great, but you should make wooden stairs instead of metal ramps in the CP structure, I'm sure it will look better.

    Keep it up!

I watched my brother play it on the xbox360, and then played it a bit myself, and overall it felt so-so.

Graphically-wise it looks top notch, the map (the only map available on the demo?) is very pretty and well made. Sounds are good too, it's a pleasure to hear the movement detector noise again *wants to watch Aliens again!*, and the ambience was good.

However the gameplay doesn't feel right, but maybe it is because only DM was available. It was too much killing-move after killing-move after killing-move, especially with the Alien. The marine seems to be pretty stoic and he doesn't feel right, he's slow as shit and he cannot crouch, come on.

The muzzle flash from the M41A is wayyyyyy too bright, you can't see what you're shooting. The close-combat feels pretty useless too, I hope devs will make it more useful.

I think making a demo with only the dm mode available was probably a mistake. My brother enjoyed it (he never played previous AVP games and is much of a console player), but I was rather confused with the gameplay stuff, still I liked it visually-wise.

I won't be as categoric as dux but I'll be waiting for a Steam low-price sale or something like this, I'm not thrilled enough to buy it now.

Hmmm, I'm in love with Miranda.

Anyway, does this game require internet validation like the first one? Because my main computer doesn't have the internet and ME1 doesn't work on the laptop I'm currently using.

    Wow, it looks absolutely stunning!

Great, great job really, makes me want to download the mod just to check out the map, when it's released.

Well it's not THAT original, but I like the style of the map. It looks like a mix between fastlane and badwater.

And I love the desert theme too.

I will give it a try as soon as I get a decent computer with the Internets on it, but some telephone poles in your 3D skybox seem to be floating on one pic.

Wow there's a real Quake feel in here, great work!

I personnally prefer the red/white version, it looks better.

    Re-Animator is the shit!

Its sequels aren't as good as the first one but are good B-movies nonetheless. I recommend watching other Stuart Gordon's movies if you like Re-Animator, he has made some of the most awesome adaptations I ever saw, like the Black Cat in Masters of Horror season 2. A true masterpiece if you ask me, yet very different from his other movies.

I second Outland, Eraserhead and Carpenter's movies, expecially They Live with its infamous combat scene in the streets.

Yeah the next aesthetic step is to remove this gray feel indoors by making the neons a little more blue-ish, since their base color is kinda flat and monochromatic.

Hey guys, I just released the first public beta of arena_malevolence, that comes with a slightly modified king of the hill version.

Malevolence (which name is more likely subject to change in the next days) is set in an industrial plant shared by BLU and RED somewhere in some relaxing and sunny mountains. The map focuses on one main room with plenty of entrances providing interesting fights. I also designed the map for vertical combat. Snipers, Scouts and Demomen can be deadly if they quickly reach the last floor and aren't stopped.

I designed it during my spare time when I had ideas, and the development lasted something like two or three months total I think (with of course some weeks I didn't do anything because I was pretty busy ).

The king of the hill version contains more items, some were changed, and has enlarged spawns, and the side doors won't open.

Like I said in other boards, I will probably have to open some new paths and close some for the koth version, because it doesn't really play like arena. I'm thinking about adding a direct path from spawns to CP but going to the last floor instead of the first, so Heavies etc won't slaughter everyone.

Images come from the arena version, but the koth version is 95% the same.

Let me know if you find bugs or anything that can be bad.

    Hope you will enjoy it!

For people who don't know how to install maps on TF2, just unzip the archive in steam/steamapps/youraccount/team fortress 2/tf/ and it should work!

    hahahahaha

    Looks awesome guys!

I miss the cyclops-helmet thing the NS1 marine had though (and I think the female marine is waaaaaayyy sexier with it on the old concept art!)

Looks very nice skdr, I remember this map!

My turn now, it's a medium sized arena taking place in a facility shared by BLU and RED. But well they don't really like each other!

I'm working on it during my free time.

Looks great Hipshot. I wish quakelive supported custom levels.

My thoughts exactly, it's the reason why I stopped playing Quake Live.

Great level Hipshot, that outdoor screenshot is amazing

On a serious note, I literally can't wait for BlizzCon. I hope we'll see more SP walkthrough as it already looked very promising at the previous BlizzCons.
