Spoiler Well I don't think it was Carl as Negan ordered his men to "take his other eye out" if he complained about him smashing the other persons head in - my money is on Eugene, the Walking Dead has a habit of telegraphing things like this, and his sudden recent step up from being pretty quiet to being involveed in 'extra things' such as the bullet making, the fact that he gave the bullet creation instructions to Rick before he left and said goodbye to/hugged the other guys made me think he was on his way out. I actually quite liked the mystery of the cliffhanger.

Was also a bit disappointed overall, I appreciate that not every game has to have a twist however I felt like this could have done with one. I found the setting quite unique and the story was intriguing enough to want to finish it, however it didn't really lead to much. There was quite a lot of backtracking which I found a bit frustrating and towards the end in particular I just found myself rushing through to find out the conclusion. When I came across an abandoned cabin with a copy of the tree poster in it I thought maybe Delilah was some nutcase who'd been living there - I also thought maybe it was Henry who had fallen ill and not his wife, and maybe we were trapped in his subconscious, which would have been some sort of comment on mental illness. Really though, I didn't think the story of the boy and his father that interesting and didn't really care so much when I found his body in the cave. It seemed like that storyline kind of came out of nowhere in the second half of the game, or maybe I wasn't paying enough attention. Either way it was short and it was cheap, so I don't regret the purchase.

Just finished watching Man in the High Castle, was good I thought, something a bit different. Am also liking the look of this miniseries that just started so might give it a go:

I'm switching roles here at Dambuster Studios after January, I'll be moving from Senior Level Designer to Lead Cinematic Designer

Looking forward to playing this at some point, loved the SWAT games, SWAT 3 was the game I originally started designing for as a hobby

Got to say I like the concept of the specialists but I have no idea why they have to talk and say such cringe-worthy things. The 'winner's circle' just needs to be cut completely, every single round it's just the same old terrible lines being delivered ("one shot, one kill, won't even hear it coming..."). I understand it was probably done to inject some character into the game and to make it feel like you are actually playing as one of the specialists but really for me it's not necessary, i don't choose a specialist because of what they say or how they look, it's purely for their special ability. There's a menu option to turn off the specialist dialog, but it doesn't seem to do anything (may be bugged? or just not intended to do what I want it to do).
MP so far though is great (when the servers allow it to be), it's possible to get some pretty stylish kills which makes you feel like a badass. Haven't really got too far into the campaign yet but did have to turn it from realistic difficulty to veteran - realistic was just a bit too punishing to be any fun. Kind of reminded me of that Tier 1 mode on MOH warfighter where you had to complete hour long levels on the hardest difficulty and deal with one-shot deaths and no checkpoints (though at least this has checkpoints)

Enjoying this so far, always thought Treyarch do the better CoD's, as usual though the servers on the opening weekend were a bit all over the place. The lack of dedicated servers especially is a real shame and a bit of a game killer at times when it comes to something fast paced like this, as the last thing you want to be contending with is lag. Still, maybe it'll be more playable in a few months time, started the campaign on realistic and looks like that might take a while to get through, pretty tough!

I would normally agree that story is a strong selling point for open world games but being as I've been put off previous MGS games by the slightly odd stories and the way they're told (through overlong cutscenes) I'm actually pleasantly surprised about how this one is handled. After slogging through the prologue the story takes a bit more of a back seat and just lets you get on with enjoying the gameplay. I like the bite-size way it's all handed, in terms of being able to jump on and pick a mission, complete it, return to your helicopter and upgrade some motherbase stuff - it's great that it's not making me sit through reams of exposition when I log on for a quick blast

I feel sorry for the developers when publishers threaten to ruin the good will of the public towards their hard work with stunts like this

The prologue was pretty terrible IMO, after that it's been brilliant tho.
Agreed, didn't get along with the prologue at all, was frustratingly slow to get through and felt like the start of an entirely different game, bearing in mind I'm not a MGS fan and I got this one as I thought I was signing up for some open world desert based stealth. Anyway, once that was all out the way and I got dropped in Afghanistan I actually started to enjoy it, will look forward to continuing over the next few nights

Ordered today, don't like ignoring games with such high praise across the board. I think the amount of cutscene content in MGS 4 was one thing that put me off playing it, and I guess I assumed this would be more of the same but from what I hear the cutscenes are greatly reduced in number and length, which sounds good

Finished Until Dawn over the weekend, I saw there's no thread on it, think it's gone a bit under the radar. Anyway, I really enjoyed it - was like playing through a decent horror movie with some cool twists, and I actually cared about some of the decisions I was forced to make during it. Would recommend

I also am not a big Metal Gear fan and have only played Twin Snakes before on Gamecube. Recently I tried Ground Zeroes but couldn't get into it, didn't know what was going on and the game didn't do a good job of teaching me how best to play it or how to use the various items at my disposal. Is this game any different? Are there tutorials and/or training areas?

Here in the UK a site called Simplygames is selling it for £33.85 on PS4 and £29.85 on PC. That's pretty cheap considering PS4 games are normally £44.99 on release

I liked season 2 but got a bit lost with all the names being thrown around at times, was hard to keep track of the full story. I think by the end I understood maybe about 90% of what happened, but had to read around in between episodes to get up to speed. The thing about season 1 was, it was cool because there were so many conspiracy theories being thrown around, and you could really throw yourself into them and try to figure out some of the mysteries. Ultimately though the ending was pretty by the numbers, and it turned out a lot of those theories were red herrings or the writers had never intended for people to look so deeply into it all. I didn't approach Season 2 looking for anything other than a standard cop thriller with a good cast therefore, and it delivered on that.

This does look cool, but with this and Until Dawn both out in 2 weeks time, it doesn't seem like there's much hype for either which is a bit worrying. Plus it's going cheap on the gaming websites, which isn't normally a good sign. I hope I'm wrong and news for this just got buried under all the gaming show previews, this looks pretty decent and I could do with something new to play. Will look forward to the reviews
-
Awesome Patrick, I hope we can realise some of that potential

-
I thought this looked really cool and well put together, it might be the game that inspires me to get an Xbox One

Yep the gameplay is being played by a guy at IGN too it seems, so it's just his experience and I guess he didn't know where to go or how to use the toolkit. It's a difficult game to show off in this respect, which is why for now the previews might provide more information on how the game will play and feel to play.
