Cool, I might give it a go, still planning on catching up on Person of Interest though (mid way through season 2), need to watch latest Homeland and Boardwalk and I've heard the Blacklist is good too..

american horror story. last episodes were pretty ok, i guess not as interesting as the first season. however, for some reason the directer decided it would be awesome to have crickets chirping in every fucking scene, appropriate or not. super annoying once you've picked it up.

I thought AHS series one was pretty good, series two lost me about half way through, was too weird and got a bit complicated - will I like season 3?

Yeah it was a good little film, funny in parts too but not an all out comedy

I would just like to say that this is the best coop gave I've played in a long time. It was so bad and random that we were pissing our pants the whole way through. Fantastic!
Seconded, the only reason I borrowed it from work was to play through it and pick it apart with a mate, good fun in every unintentional way

Thanks for the replies guys. I might just block out the layout I had in mind then and not worry about any custom assets/textures to start with. Just to try and create something fun that's well optimised.
PaulH - Airport was sexy! The multiplayer maps in the beta were the reason I bought Crysis 3, so much fun and they were gorgeous - awesome work.

Thanks, there's a lesson you can learn from it - in order to piss the art team off simply insist on crashing planes into things

Sticking to basics would be setting everything up using dev textures only and no real assets. Doesn't mean you can't get across an idea of the final theme though, but does mean you don't have to spend time dressing areas when simple blocks representing cover will suffice.
Think my first level was in UDK, something for the original UT. It had a section of floor that was disguised and when players stepped on it they realised it was a fast moving lift which took them down into a lava pit. I don't know why, it was shit.

To be fair I'm a big COD player and that issue constantly occurs in every COD game I'm ever played

Just checking through it quickly, it seems you have applied the 'Game Design' tag to a lot of things that aren't related to design, in fact most (all?) of them I would label as Environment Art instead (e.g. the Sci-fi crate). Also you said you have studied film and animation, is there any of this work you could cover on your portfolio?

Looks like the official announcement is coming next week
Sounds like the beeping might be morse code, probably some extra info there but my morse code skills are rusty

Yeah I got it for 360, totally agree with you Rick I'm about 40% done and loving it, I was disappointed with Assassins Creed 3 and was hoping this one wouldn't let me down (love pirate stuff) and it really hasn't

Love Eastbound and Down

I watched:

New JJ Abrams produced show with Karl Urban, was decent, nice to see a sci-fi show which doesn't have crappy SFX and the concept is interesting. Soundtrack is pretty cool too (kind of retro synthetic, similar to Blood Dragon). Will continue to watch (also helps that Minka Kelly is in it)

You're just upset there's no other Creative Assemblers on here to give forum-five's to

I was walking past Crytek UK's offices after going to the gym the other day and noticed the lights were still on during the evening. All the windows have anti-snooping shit on them so I looked through the door like this:

I think it was just cleaners or security, though.

It was probably us still working on Homefront to be fair
Quote from CorwinYeah he is, although he's on holidays atm I believe. Barnaby too, who you may know

I know Barney, say hi from me! Let's turn this thread into one where everyone says hi to everyone else that they know working in other companies

Actually, at the risk of de-railing things further, Ryse has come a long way from what I saw originally and is looking pretty sweet actually, you guys did a great job

I think I'm just one of those weirdos, evident in the fact that I also always invert my look controls

I kinda prefer the XB1 pad to the PS4 (left thumb stick is higher than the right, as with 360, maybe I'm used to the 360 pad but it feels more natural to hold it), however the PS4 controller is a big improvement over the PS3 one which I always thought was too small, tacky and the sticks were overly sensitive. The sticks feel a lot nicer to move around on the PS4 and the touchscreen is interesting. The XB1 pad also seems a little bigger, or taller than the 360, and therefore shoulder buttons are slightly more awkward to get fingers on. Pretty much still on the PS4 side of the fence, will be interesting to see the upcoming comparisons around release.

Saw this in IMAX last night, not a 3D movie fan but actually this was the first I've seen that was kind of worth it, brilliant film and experience
