Hey, the TV's a Radiation King. Just like on the Simpsons.

And I love how the left and right trigger markers for the 360 are there.

That's completely one-sided. I didn't see you complaining at all about other long-running genres like the sci-fi fps, or the modern warfare fps, or the post-apocalyptic fps/rpg hybrid, or even the distant future rts that got hammered through the Earth's core by Command and Conquer.

You didn't make a point. Was just the same thing I see tenfold in ShackNews comments.

Before everyone said they were sick of the Normandy theatre, so this one's in the Pacific and Russia. But no one's noting that change, are they? On top of which, it's freaking co-op. There's a lot of zombie games, but is Left 4 Dead beating a dead horse? Well, no.

Weird how everyone trashes World War 2 as if the endless waves of unimaginative ooga booga monsters from glorginagloob running at you in steel corridors full of pipes and blue lights is some sort of venerable goldmine.

  • Serious thread: Is 0 a number?

    • JohnC
    • September 17, 2008 at 3:46 AM

Thinking back to high school, zero is technically a number, but there's several kinds of numbers.

There were rational numbers, real numbers, irrational numbers, and digits. I know it was a digit, might have been a real number too.

  • Gearbox Rumored to be Working on Halo 4

    LOL WUT

The vehicle controls are awful. Warthog's slide around like they're driving on muddy ice even when you're on pavement, and good luck trying to turn around in a tank.

And the level design was sub par.

More to the topic, I'd like to see what Gearbox does with the name. There were already some rumors that the next game would be a squad based game (I.E. Brothers in Arms) without any Spartans.

So, wasn't really expecting a wave of awesome today, but it came. Telltale games, the guys behind Sam and Max and Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People are working on episodic Wallace and Gromit games.

I'd say they handled the claymation style pretty well.

A friend of mine who still plays it said the servers appear to have been swamped with botters trying to sell gold/items. I guess no one is administrating the game right now ...

Oh cool, so it's even more like Diablo 2!

On that note, rumor has it Flagship was well aware of Diablo 3 and their only hope was to get Hellgate out ahead of it.

I equate this with all of the greats who left Saturday Night Live to make redundant comedies. It's great that you want to do something new and make it big on your own, and I admire the initiative, but man oh man. It's not as good as your old stuff.

Apparently the Schaeffer brothers (likely the namesake of Schaeffer's Hammer in diablo 2) gave their employees 30 days pay out of their own pockets. Standup guys, it seems.

"Frigate" eh. Strange name for a sports car. So the pump shotgun's back.

So sold. Something about alley shootouts makes me love a game.

Okay. I could be wrong. I'm hearing elsewhere that you can still pick up items you can't use, and that you're not necessarily going to find nothing but Barb gear when playing as a Barb.

Still, I shudder to think of a Diablo game without the de-facto, all coveted, universal GFG uniques like Arkaine's Valor, Gladiator's Bane, the Veil of Steel, War Traveler boots, and so on (ignoring that most of them were later rendered useless by runewords.)

I remember seeing a String of Ears drop once in a Baal run. I wanted it, whoever got it didn't even know what it was, or that it used to be one of the best belts in the game. I can agree that drops got hoarded by whoever had the most run/walk charms, or was a frenzy barb. Still, I almost grew to enjoy it as being integral to the gameplay. A Darwinian mad dash for phat l00ts.

I'm far more concerned about my l00ts at this point. Apparently, not only will armor be class specific, but you can only see the drops that you can pick up. No more selling Necro wands and Druid helms for 35k a piece. And no more trade, basically.

You're nuts. Diablo 2 had plenty of influence on WoW to begin with, and it was stylized, too. It had brighter, more colorful locations than the first one. And, yet again, they're doing some new things with a sequel.

When I step back the similarites between this and Fallout 3 are a real crackup.
