  • The BioShock Thread! For people who have finished it yo

Never touched anything BioShock related. Took the affordable method and skimmed through the plot on Wikipedia.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault certainly had a crappier ending, right?

The big "dun dun dun" plot twist didn't impress me. It's too drastic. On top of which, there was some Star something, or maybe it was blah blah Wars, anyway, some movie had some twist like that a good 20 years ago.

They put Securom on your computer without asking you, which isn't legal really. Software qualifies as a good and they have no right to tell you what you can do with it after you purchase it.

They ignored countless messages from customers on their forums, and email. Several Tech support moderators joined the forums, but never posted a thing.

They told their community of paying customers that everyone was on vacation.

I say it's still well within proportion. These sellouts are an insult to the gaming industry and a black eye on any image it had left, especially the action genre. I'm just afraid of the same crap being pulled with Mafia 2.

On that note I add the Thin Red Line. Another long one though.

And one of the best ways I can think of to spend 3 hours and 21 minutes, Giant.

    If you're making something urban...

    The Corruptor

    The Godfather

Once Upon a Time in America (if you have four hours)

    The Road to Perdition

    Rounders

    The Matrix

Yeah, 47 tooks his jobs from the ICA (International Contract Agency) a.k.a. "The Agency." There was never any rogue religious sect in any of the games, though he spent some time at a Monastery in Hitman 2......

Amazingly, he's using the right guns in the film. The love interest plot, however, is a direct contradiction to 47's cold, calculating, emotionless character.

The original Mafia had no CGI cinematics at all. It was all in game stuff. More than likely this is too. I still say the shadow's fine.

    Quote from Thrik

I meant the big shaded area on the left side of the street. The lighting in it seems really bland and flat.

Er, it's the shadow of a building. The real thing is pretty bland and flat too.

Whoa. On the back of the bus in that shot, it says "Empire City." I just noticed that. The next city for the game, maybe?

Oh, yeah, I've got plenty of prefabs to add in, I'm just trying to focus on geometry for now, as well as lighting. Maybe I'll add some handrails and banisters to the stairs. Thanks for the feedback.

Oh.... kay. Could you specify some things you think need improvement?

Might as well take all the criticism at once, so here's some more.....

Okay, I don't know if anyone was ever into Max Payne 2 or MaxED2 (other than HP), so it might be difficult to give input, but I wanted to contribute something. So here's a level I'm working on. I'm still new at this, so be gentle......

    Maybe it's the Korean War?

Well, it was announced in 2003, then it was announced again very recently, and now the official website is online with 5 new screenshots. The styling of the cars indicates it's the mid 50's or so, and the main character looks like a younger version of Tommy, in some ways.

  • Max Payne 2 and Milkshape?

    • JohnC
    • August 18, 2007 at 8:22 AM

Hello, let me start off by saying I have no real experience with 3D modelling, and I'm still very unfamiliar with common actions (most notably in this case, adding joints and keyframes).

I'm trying to get a shotgun model into Max Payne 2 using Milkshape. It's a rather simple model, with two groups, if that helps. I made two joints, selected a group and then clicked "assign" in the joints tab once for each joint. I selected the whole model, clicked the "anim" button, set a key frame, moved the keyframe slider over to 2, set a keyframe, and so on to 5.

I exported the mesh and the joints seperately, as mesh and pose .kf2's, respectively. I compiled the files into a mod, but before it even made it to the menu, the game crashed saying "projectile enemy_pumpshotgun was shorter than minimum frame length(0)". As far as I know, this means I hadn't actually added any frames to the model.

I've looked online for Tutorials that would cover this, but there don't seem to be any specifically for Max Payne 2. I know, this is basic knowledge and it's probably ridiculous that I'm stumped on this, but any guidance on the steps to this process would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
