i agree, such event would be quite awesome.

i'd honestly like to keep this thread clean of these trivial comments and rather have more responses by people who are actually going. zombie, if you dont like it, stay out of it.
thanks.

alright, 7/8th of feb is the date.
people that are able to make it to this date please respond to me in pm's either on the forums or on irc for contact details.

rocks are too shiny

but then again unreal was never the most realistic engine out there. other than that, the map looks really awesome.

i disagree, acumen. the thick lines add tension to the image, and it would probably look even better if animated in the traditional cartoon way. what really bothers me though is the light... it seems extremely out of context with the rest of the image.

i love the last texture clayman, nice work.. i'd love to see the normal for it as well

Yeah? I guess after every possible game movie concept has been exhausted they will finally realize making games to movies is a suck idea. They're never good! I thought the trailer was shite.
it's not that the ideas arent good. it's just that the execution of them usually fails. not everyone is a speilberg at directing :\

Aye the orchestral music in Galaxy is so awesome, just sucks so bad that they've mixed it with some really cheap midi like stuff :G
some of them are orchestrated old tunes, like the boss stage in super mario brothers 3 for the ship level(s), and also the classic underground music in some cases, among others.

I'm with you here. I've so far attempted to play Neverwinter Nights 2 four times but got bored within the first 20 minutes. Same With Baldurs Gate 1 and 2.

i agree partially, bioware sometimes brings boring rpgs. i regret having bought neverwinter nights 2 when i should have really bought the first game. the humor in baldur's gate made that worth playing for a while; never completed either of them though.

Any links for some good shit?

look around on the net for shitty maps, join some different servers to get the different maps downloaded. extreme crude maps are especially fun, since you can laugh at the designer's inability to design while blowing up everyone up with rpgs. my personal recommendation would be the map called rpgdm... i reckon it was made by flashdevil

hl1 is awesome on lan... especially when you download some shitty maps and fuck around in them. i mean, really, it's fun as in you'll be laughing so much you cant breathe.
-
i reckon those will be arcade games, as in like those 5 games they put out along with the xbox360 arcade.

as much as i hate to do this, bump.
more people need to vote so we can get a better picture of when the most people can meet up. right now it looks like it's gonna be the 7th/8th of february... so unless anyone votes it's gonna be this date (not that i mind, mind you). i will, however, give the thread a few more days before finally confirming the date.
also, i again encourage people to give out suggestions as to where to go, where to start and what time to start.
-
please use the other thread people. mrh2o, there's actually been decided a place for this meeting. link:

also the stars are pretty cute and i was considering getting a couple of pillows that say their signature voice every time you press them... that would rock
-
i just rock at gaming i guess ;D i agree on the core levels being the best by far, or well, the least frustrating in that sense. plus it was a nice breather from the sneaking and fighting... easy to get lost there as well

subtle reference by our dear friechamp?

i completed it in about 6 hours total (delta), pretty short but very stunning visually, great gameplay but also extremely frustrating in various places. i am used to having autosaves do the saving for me and i would time after time redo the same spots because i forgot to save. also there seemed to be some bugs after loading saves, like for instance that ai would keep their state of alertness they had prior to the save, among others.
still, it's a solid release; even the story seems compelling and at no point i felt bored or like i wasnt sure what was going on.

i play this when i have friends over. so far we've gotten some 30ish stars, fits with about 25% done (120 stars, no?). i love the game, it's great gameplay and the controls are so intuitive... except for the swimming part.. or at least i suck at it :\
