i sort of agree with hourences. what i really liked about hl2dm when i still played that, was that you had weapons you could get, but then you'd also have various ways of using those weapons as you got better -- the crossbow shots would bounce off surfaces and could be used for ricochet kill, the gravity gun could be used to pick up grenades and time them so you could blow someone up on impact. i would appreciate seeing changes like these in tf2. and no, i am not thinking about nade spam, but things like rocket jump and pipebomb jump, for instance. so yeah, give players all available weapons at the beginning, but add multiple use to them, as seen before.

nice and simple, fits the theme well. although there not being a "start game" or "start race" button sort of confuses me. also it'd be cool if the game decided the opening car and driver at random from all available objects.

awesome two dee, it has a very distinct non canon tf2 look over it in those shots. it's nice to see some changes from the standard valve looking maps. dont get me wrong, i love them, but sometimes you need a wee bit variation.

sweet info dude. yeah i am definitely going to la, but i dont plan too much on before hand. i usually visit places in weeks, i.e. i spend 1 week visiting one place then move on, etc. i really wanted to see if i could make a trip all the way down to arizona and the superstitions, but i doubt that will be possible.. it is quite a distance. hows the security over there? do you get robbed on the streets and do the gangs beat you up at night?

we learned about bauhaus in high school. granted, i took art classes, but still.

it's part of the game. i got to that point too, and i reckon you need to hit the absolute top of the pole to win (watch for the invisible box above the sky, and the yellow rocket thing)

much better now, more depth and more smoothness. i still think you should smoothen the hard light on the walls... but that's about it. how long did it take you to make this, total?

if you're into this sort of stuff, there's also asshole mario:
i know you can download it somewhere, we tried it a few of us over at uni and spent well over 50 lives on the first level.External Content www.youtube.comContent embedded from external sources will not be displayed without your consent.Through the activation of external content, you agree that personal data may be transferred to third party platforms. awesome, thanks for the pointers. i had hoped i would get more replies here, especially from our resident californians (zaphod hint hint), but meh.

reminds me alot of the koko style, i like it. i honestly dont give much critique since, well, it's art. at any point you could go and say "yeah i meant to do that".
if i had to say something though, the veiny look on the rocks in some places looks weird and out of place and the area behind the man and flying thing is way too dark, considering how light the rest of the cave is. also the rotors of the flying thing look like they're floppy/flaccid ;p

i'm following the thread trend!
anyway i am going to california on 25th of june for a month backpacker style, and i was wondering for those of you that have been there or live there what's worth visiting. i am starting out and leaving from san fran. also if anyone's interested in meeting up for a beer, let me know.

no, i said it was a gimmick, and from what you said, i think it that description fits somewhere along the lines of "pretty well". it doesnt really add enough to distinguish itself, just a few things dropped in here and there, and the addition of the online part. then again i may just be a naysayer, since i have never really seen any racing game that could surpass fatal racing:

those were the days.

except in these cars the motor is in the back ;p

this is where i do the  and say, "i told you so"

maybe in terms of design, but not in terms of theme.

check the contrast factor. i recall kuro having something like 1:10000 which is like a regular plasma screen, while cheap lcd's have 1:1000. my own lg 32" has 1:5000, no backlighting, and it really displays colors in both movies and games well. i cant speak for tv since i, well, dont watch tv.

I'm going to be totally honest (because I think you'd rather have honesty than BS) and say those are all very meh. I don't have anything against playing with a camera, but that's obviously what that is.There's nothing wrong with playing (that's the best way to learn how to use a camera), but any time you're taking shots with lighting like that it's playing with the camera more than photographing something. There's nothing wrong with a P&S camera either. SLRs are cool and all, but about the only thing they really have over point and shoot cams is that they are easier for an experienced photographer to get an exact setting. The image quality is second to your ability to use a camera well.
I think this explanation is the best: The best Digital SLR in the world shooting crap is still only taking the best looking shots crap in the world. Your crappy little P&S cam taking a picture of the most amazing sunset you've ever seen is still taking a photograph of the most amazing sunset you've ever seen. Your camera can not make up for, or stop you, from being in the right place at the right time.
I think I'm going to put that in a sticky or something.
dont you think you are being just a little too hard on him? i mean, this is an open photography forums and all; everything doesn't have to be perfect or professional. even newcomers should have a chance to get decent critique that won't put them off, but rather encourage them to take better photos. i see your point about what makes a good photo, but there's no need for being abrasive and belittleling towards another member because of the work they posted. there's enough elitism on the forums already.

this is how it would look if a video had cancer. my life is complete. i can die happy now.
this video made me heighten my standards of movies in general, and cured any potential case of cancer i might get as well as any potential cancers my unborn children will ever have.
