By that same argument Sentura, what does the Joker have...? He had no sinister plan to take over the world, and he also cares about nothing. I thought the idea of Two Face could have been developed a lot more, he was such a cool character.

the joker has no rules; that is his trait. as he said in the movie, he is an agent of chaos, and it is explained why he does things just for the hell of it. the chaos manifestations he creates cannot be compared to flicking a coin every time to decide a person's fate. can you not see this?

I found it much improved over the first at least, which I found even more bloated than this one. There's a lot more focus with the The Joker being the primary villian and all the other mob bosses being very secondary. In Batman Begins, you had villians stashed all over the damn place, all of them seperate from each other, with their own goals etc. Was pretty confusing thinking back to it and I saw it multiple times.

Though it doesn't avoid the problems from the original completely with, as mentioned, Harvey Dent being brought in and out rather quickly and the plot in general being rather complicated (maybe to a fault, I don't really think so, however). For what they wrote into the script, they handled it all very well, despite the intricate plot, I don't remember being confused too much, and if I was, it was temporary.

I do agree, however, that it would be interesting to see what they could do with less emphasis on the "holy fuck lets put everything we can in this" approach.

i do actually think that harvey dent was put in/out of the plot rather deliberately. why?

well think about it: what does two-face actually have? a coin and an unhealthy taste for vengeance. nothing more. he has no sinister plot to take over the world, he does not care about the world. all he cares about is his loved one, whose death he blames the world (herein the police, and to a much lesser extent, the joker). there is nothing more to him.

Gmod has no immersion and people seem to like it a bunch

i don't think we're talking about the same type of sandbox here. plus, gmod isn't as much as mod/game as it is something you can fool around with. in the same sense, people play san andreas too, because some people like it for different reasons (see hourences' posts). you might also want to read posts after the post you're quoting to avoid questioning points that already have been answered.

Well of course, it would have been better with more immersion, but really, if you are really after a strong story, immersion, atmosphere and all that, wouldn't you be better off playing a non sandbox game? A story intensive FPS for example? A game that really focusses on its story rather than trying to bring it all?I want GTA for the one thing that few other games (try to) offer: complete and absolute freedom.

how many shooters have you seen based in the 80s miami? to my knowledge, none have been developed. while it's true that you could go the fps and just have a hook-in-gums story, vc offers a different atmosphere and location that has not yet been reproduced. for me, the sandbox element is just a feature - not what the games themselves should be based on.

honestly, what good is a sandbox when you lack the immersion? vc had the immersion sa lacked, so even though it was smaller, i felt like playing a much better game. quality over quantity.

I can't wait for Wrath of the Lich King; I get to kill more monsters, in order to get better loot, in order to be able to kill more monsters, but more easily! YAY!And I have to pay to do that as well! Woo.

I haven't played WoW for 6 months, and hell, it has been awesome.

i can beat that... i've never played wow.

It strikes me as something that would work in CSS based on those screenshots, but that may be just because they're so many goddamn counterstrike maps released dev textured. Hey, I didn't have a 100% complete Source map before last month with a TF2 pyro gimmick map, so I can commiserate. I'm working on an urban Zombie Master map designed to be impressive visually now. Keep getting distracted by TF2 though...

i would consider anything but genuine cs gimmicky as well. why not just make a regular cs map? if you're focusing on visuals instead of gameplay, you'll probably find that much easier.

i think it has a bit of a lacking background - where's the horizon? what landscape is this?

i completely dig the style though, very dramatic/expressionistic, which i feel most concept art should have, especially art that depicts a scenario/story or a landscape:

the bigger strokes give it a bit more cartoony look, but overall it's good looking - just finish it

If you want to be really original you could get him some kind of statue or figurine of something. Or maybe some sharks teeth, the big bone and teeth structure of their mouth. I've got a massive one in my room, sharp as hell.

o snap, i just got a bust made for myself in clay by a sculptor in santa monica. it turned out awesome, and it's probably the best souvenir i could have gotten for myself
