Maybe if they built the vent before the rails, but not if they built the vent after the rails.

hmm the weird thing is the vent pipe near branch. it is "cheaper" to made something like this:

If you want I can send you some info/measurements about placing human on constructions and near doors, branches, lights, light switches etc.

I guess terrain is from heightmap + changes in editor. The rest of map is as objects (meshes) exported form max/maya.
