Wow, just played the demo and I love the art in this game. Feels very Wind Waker esque, nice work!

Interesting... They're taking it in a really odd direction. Does look very Rage like, in terms of character design.
This guy reminds me of somebody, I can't think who.... Kinda looks a little bit like Kevin Spacey mixed with Ray Winstone.

What are those flying things in the air though? As far as I'm aware there were no similar enemies in Rage. They look more like the flying skull enemies from Doom... Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
I asked a friend from Id earlier and he accidentally MAY have made a slip up and MAYBE told me that it was Doom. Maybe.

Hmmm. Looks cool, but some of those shots look like 1999 gfx.
NEEDS MOAR HELL AND SHIT

Wow, looks amazing

-
Awesome, congratulations dude!!!

I'm going to do a video of the environment in motion, with trees swaying, seagulls flying around, waves lapping etc. But I think Thrik, for my next scene, I want to make something a little more Adventure game-esque, so keep your eyes open

-
Yeah I agree man, it's been nagging me for a while now. I'm going to mess around with the ToD settings quite a bit over the next couple of nights, re-do the wood texture, and do some nice clouds/sort out the horizon.
THEN I will finally finish off the actual bar haha!

Nice crits dude, thanks a lot <3!
-
Yeah my main crit is that I didn't see the info bar for a while, whereas it should be noticeable straight away how to get in touch. I looked around the main page before looking at the bottom, then I realised.
-
Thanks dude, I'll work on the wood a bit more next. I varied the sand up a little bit today.
The plan is to work on the beach bar itself now, I've been working on the rest of the island over the past few days, trying to make it feel more like dense jungle. Also updated to the latest version of the SDK which seems to have changed the lighting quite a bit, but I've been tweaking it a fair bit.

Awesome stuff dude. I fucking love the Core, and really want to see it thrive!

Hello again chaps!
Been chipping away at this scene, even though my life has been taken over by other stuff at the moment. Played through Dear Esther today and my mind was blown, I want to build a really immersive environment like that with this scene...

Lots of tweaks and updates since the last post, but nowhere near as much as I'd have liked. It's mainly vegetation updates and I tweaked the hut textures slightly. I want to add more landmarks to the scene, it's looking very sandy atm. Might detail the path leading out of this area too, and I need to do something with the damn mountain right next to the Hut.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Cryengine is seriously awesome. It's one of the only engines I've used that gets you the exact results you want without having to mess around for ages. If you have an idea in your head, you can easily get it down in 3D. To all you Crytekkers, bloody good job!!!!

Awesome man, looking forward to seeing it. That's weird, I just worked on a Disney title too... But I'm not sure whether to put it on my folio or not

-
Why don't they just use a more modern engine? I find these mods really visually jarring, when you have super high res, normal mapped textures on low poly geometry. It's kinda like using a high-res texture pack for Minecraft.
-
Possibly rudeness was the wrong word... Actually you know what, fuck it, this is MAPCORE (land of the fun times) not LinkedIn (land of business and seriousness)

I showed my senior your portfolio earlier and he agreed with me that there is a lot of stylised stuff in there (which is good, dont get me wrong), but it might be good to show a bit more variety in your texture work. Not many companies use that very stylised, cartoony art style, and I feel you may be limiting yourself to a certain genre.
Maybe show some high poly work, or a scene in UDK/Cryengine. Try something unique and blow everyone away

-
Firstly, maybe don't start with 'Yoyoyo yo yo yo' and then just link to your portfolio. Comes across as rude

With your portfolo, I can't tell what exactly you want to do in the industry. Do you want to be a character modeller or an environment artist?
-
Wow that's your site? I love MixnMojo
:D!I never knew it was your thing, that's awesome. You just reached whole new levels of awesome!

Thrik, what do you mean your other baby?
