How about someone from Mapcore group just announces a CSGO game when it's happening, rather than make a new group for it?

Is it bad that for me, remembering rolling around Black Mesa is like many people remembering their childhood days playing on parks and shit?

For Alyx Vance, this is also true

    That soundtrack is awesome!

The game itself... I don't really know what to think. The whole thing seemed like some kind of massive cutscene, wasn't really much gameplay there.

I don't mean to shit on what you've done by the way, it looks great. What sort of stuff have you been working on? Props, or level design?

Just put your Jurassic Park car in one of the levels and I'm sure everything will be fine.

Never did any remote work myself, although i think at some point i will be forced to do it .. I'm still oblivious to one thing : how do you guys manage to find job offers ?

I'm on a permanent contract with Unknown Worlds Entertainment. I'm still a contractor but I don't have an end date so it's pretty much the same as any office job really.

this is actually the only pro i see about working from home. i could sit on a beach in thailand and work if i wanted (though my computer would probably overheat )

this only works if your work is the kind that can be done, essentially, alone. and again i think it falls back to the fact that if you can do something good while on your own, then you could make something ten times better if you were surrounded by others.

    i guess.

The work I do on NS2 is a lot of prop work, which can easily be done off-site. I work with level designers quite a lot and luckily a lot of them are British so we can keep in touch over Gtalk. Plus I can charge an hourly rate which is much higher than if I worked in an office (At least at my old job anyway!)

After grin went down I freelanced for a few months from home and I hated it. The money was good but it gets really lonely and I found it hard to stay focused on doing work in my appartment. When you are by yourself and plan your own stuff, procrastination gets really easy . I ended up having less "free time" doing stuff I really wanted to do and wasting a lot of time doing nothing because of procrastinating .I really enjoy the social aspect of work too and really missed that part, I don't see myself freelancing again. I think getting to work and interact with great people is one of the best parts of this industry =)

I have to agree on the 'working with other people' element, I do miss working in an office for that reason. But I do really enjoy working from home and setting up my own schedule to get stuff done. I still meet up with my friends and make sure I go out and see people though, don't wanna become a social hermit.

Moving to London later this month, which is gonna be AWESOME. That's the other great thing about working from home, you can work wherever the fuck you like.

I said 'good luck' and then asked a simple question, I wasn't having a go at you at all, Steppenwolf.

Don't take it to heart, it was a genuine question. I loved Insurgency, it's great to see it up and running again and hopefully making some money.

I thought that looked like great fun. Old school, but awesome nonetheless. It will be great to just see HL1 with a fresh coat of paint on it. I can imagine the rocket blast off looking pretty damn awesome!

When I worked on BM, there was a lot of work going into adding more choreographed sequences, which were looking awesome when I saw them. It's great to see new section and characters from the Black Mesa facility, I think you guys will really appreciate the changes when you play it.

    Very exciting!

I also second what Rick said, which was a great post.
