    Truly inspiring.

You can almost see each individual layer on your earlier stuff; stuff didn't blend too well. The more recent ones though, damn. Everything just blends so nicely. Incredible stuff.

Do the official maps use dynamic light? I know Source isn't too hot with them normally. I don't think the visual difference is that great with dynamic lights so consider taking a lot out and only putting them in the most obvious places.

    That looks absolutely gorgeous!

But to be honest I don't think I'll be getting it. I'm kinda bored of single player shooters these days.

Damn I'm really looking forward to this game. I really hope there is a lot to do in the city and it doesn't feel barren like GTA 4 did. Can't wait!

    - Performance. I've got a pretty good machine (i7 2600k, 660ti, 8gig ram) and if I want really smooth performance I got to run everything on Low (I'm pretty picky though...).

Have you tried turning off AO? I find that usually helps, it's not very optimized. Also, dropping your resolution by one setting usually helps quite a lot.

We should organise a time that we can all play together at some point. I'm away this weekend, but maybe next week sometime?

doesn't make your engine team less read the ruless though ;(

They've built a completely new engine from the ground up, with just 5/6 people, that supports up to 32 players in a server (though not recommended), with hundreds of entities doing their own thing (buildings, MACs, ARCs, etc) and it looks awesome. Give them a break.

Performance is always being worked on.

welcome to video games. I don't care who did what or how much work it was. I paid money and performance is shit. Any QA would have found this if QA was even done. I have a ridiculously good machine and this runs worse than Crysis onULTRAOMFG settings at 2560x1600.

    GET WITH PROGRAM FELLOWS

enjoyed what I played and like the atmosphere of the game though. Mouse input is pretty weird however, feels very floaty.

Haha it's not some big secret. Everybody knows about the performance issues. Try lowering your resolution and turn AO off. It's only gonna get better

Yeah mouse input is still a bit weird, they're working on a fix atm.

We have a big PT team that tests the game every night, so most of the bugs have been ironed out so far.

Performance is a known issue, Rick, yeah. FPS was increased by 30-50% the other week, and there has been a lot of discussion amongst the engine programmers as to what to do next. The reason it is worse than other games is that the entire game is done in LUA on a C++ code base, which makes it really easy to mod but there is a slowdown between the 2.

There is definitely stuff planned to keep increasing FPS though!
