Aww thanks dude, that's a really nice thing to say. I can't really take too much credit, I've only been with the team for 5 months! The other guys have been struggling along for 3/4+ years now!

So I just heard from my old Frontier buddies that 15 people have been laid off today in the Cambridge studio where I used to work. Mainly graduate environment artists, and a few animators/audio guys... Can't find any news about it online but it definitely happened today.
I also heard that a few people got laid off at Machinima (http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/14/machinima-layoffs/).
It's kinda crazy that this happened, because Frontier just opened a new studio in Canada, and they have that Kickstarter going to get 1.25m for Elite.
I've (probably quite selfishly) never really paid too much attention to layoffs/redundancies before, as I've never known anybody affected by them. It's obviously an awful thing to happen, but I just never felt the effects of it. This, however, really hit home. I was at this company 5 months ago, that could have been me! I really hope they all land on their feet.
So errr yeah don't really know why I'm posting this, but I know there are a few ex-Fronter people on here like myself.

American Horror Story season 2...
That is some seriously crazy shit. Great show, love the fact that the same actors from season 1 re-appear in this season.

Looks like a Transformers rip off. And Transformers is fucking awful, so that's really scraping the barrel.

Awesome stuff, dude!

Send me a message on Steam and I'll jump in if I get chance.

Just watched the GTA Retrospective on Gametrailers (link here), and I'm really pumped for this game!
Re-watched the latest GTA V trailer, and I really noticed how Sopranos inspired it seems to be. I'm going through the series for the second time with my girlfriend, so its all pretty fresh in my mind. The whole argument between the (presumably) mother and daughter at the beginning is very Carmella/Meadow, and the way the main character (father) stays out of it and drinks by the pool is also reminiscent of Tony Soprano.
Also, there is a reference at the end about the main character's therapist having a lot to answer for. A nice little nod to Sopranos

Yeah I
Quoteshowed my bite and chose to chop my arm off. Played through the rest of the game waving a stump around.
I saved Doug in my game, and he was just useless anyway. He ends up getting shot by Lilly. I then left Lilly by the side of the road and got on the train.
Also, towards the end, I saved Ben. Then shortly after, we were all jumping out of a window, and Ben falls down and gets impaled by the balcony post. Then for some weird fuckin reason, Kenny decided to lock himself down there with Ben and do some kind of suicide attempt to save Ben, when it was blatantly obvious that Ben was going to die. Only part of the game that I thought was a bit stupid.
I told Christa and Omid to meet me outside the city but obviously.. That nevers happens.
Did anyone choose to have the romantic relationship with Clementine? I thought that was a bit odd. The candelit dinner in the school was fucked up.

You recognise the doors over the hulking great big Gears character?

Women should not be even seen near games, let alone making them. What is this, 2012?!

Seriously though, I am so excited about this game. Irrational are great at creating really believable but fantastical worlds. Can't wait to try this one out!
I do hope they go back to their roots and make a new version of System Shock next, though. I think they could really put an awesome spin on the sci-fi theme. Some sort of collosal space cruiser travelling through space for centuries, dozens of generations of people being born onboard over the years, in order to then terraform distant planets.. Their society could develop, and a very Rapture-esque environment could come about.
I think it would be awesome!

Meh I was hoping it was MP only

Here, in The Netherlands, in the summer of 1999, you couldn't turn on the radio, watch TMF or The Box without at least hearing this song once.

I was 9 in 1999! Being born in 1990 makes it very easy to remember how old I am... Just gotta add 10 to the current year, then the last 2 digits is my age. BOOM. Maths, baby.
