It's a realistic WW2 shooter. What's to get excited about? I'm surprised people aren't more critical. Aren't you guys bored of playing the same shit? Sure it's been a good few years since a AAA WW2 game, and we're now in a new generation of games, but you know EXACTLY how the game is going to play out. You know exactly how the guns are going to shoot. You know exactly which vehicles will be in this game. You know exactly the types of enemies you'll be shooting. I can guarantee one of your buddies is going to die in the singleplayer campaign and it's going to be super emotional with orchestral music playing in the background.
I think the sci-fi CoD games were more interesting than this. I didn't play them, but at least they tried something a bit different. Dunno, maybe I'm just looking at this through a cynical lens.
What other settings would you guys like to see in a CoD game, I wonder? Have they ever made one set in Vietnam? That could be interesting. Or perhaps some kind of alternate history.. Dunno. I guess the huge production costs and lengthy production time means the CoD series is always inevitably going to have to be lowest common denominator, and they couldn't really explore a smaller conflict/war.

- Those fucking ceiling monsters in Ocarina of Time. The noise it makes as the shadow gets bigger, and then the weird little hand creature falls on your head... really clever monster idea
- Tiberium in the original C&C games. It would always damage your infantry but tanks etc would be fine. That always made you think differently about traversing the environment.

Quote from Minos
1 hour ago, Minos said: Awesome! Curious to see if they are making a trilogy out of the first book, or if they will try to fit everything in one movie.
I highly recommend the book, it's a loooong haul but totally worth it. I've been reading it for months now and I still have about 20% to go lol. I'm learning so much from it that I usually read a chapter and meditate on the concepts for weeks, just to make sure I fully grasped everything. This a powerful book and the useful bits will be probably lost in the movie translation, or can't even be fitted in a movie to begin with! No wonder Jodorowsky wanted his version to be 12 hours long

The audible audiobook is stellar too, probably the best production values I have ever seen in an audiobook. I started with that one but it was kind of hard to understand what the fuck they were talking about a lot of the times, because of all the new terminology Frank Herbert created for the book. But my plan is to go over it once I'm done with the book

Nice man! You mean the first book? I loved reading that a few years ago. Might give it another go soon.
The sequels are really interesting too, but they kinda lost a lot of what made the first book so great. Still worth a read imo.

Awesome. Is there much info out there about the film at the moment?

Wicked. Thanks for the recommendation Sprony. I remember looking at some of his stuff for Alien Isolation (even though we weren't supposed to look at Aliens, shhhhhh!). Will give this a read.

I get wanting to make gameplay assets stick out from the environment, but yeah it looks like some sort of shader with a colour overlay which just completely flattens the entire object.

God damnit that music is like a fuckin time machine for me. I can picture myself in my living room playing sonic with my dad. Fucking awesome.
-
Nice one man! I'm looking for to buying my first place

Holy shit, a CSGO map set in Italy? Wow.

What a load o' shite.

I've had a tiny issue with the left joy con but its nowhere near as bad as people are making it out to be...

Zelda is fucking awesome. The Lost Woods is one of the best videogame environments I've ever seen, it feels so atmospheric. I'm blown away.
I don't think it's a 10/10 but I am really enjoying it.
-
Hahaha yay! Go gingers!

Can't believe I've been working on this project for 2 years. Time has flown by...
Can't believe the launch trailer has no gameplay in it lol.
-
Yeah let's keep it to Mapcore and friends

Really looking forward to meeting you guys! You've all been part of my game dev life for like 11+ years now, it'll be great to finally meet in person!

Man I played this at E3 and it was some of the most fun I've had in ages. I think there were 5 of us playing after a few beers at the Microsoft party and it was such a good laugh!
