I thought that looked pretty cool. Bunch of grumpy bastards.

I thought you only ate gingerbread?
That's like telling a black man he only eats watermelon and chicken, you bloody racist!
-
Yeah but that was a marketing video

You always get people like that at every company (or so I've found so far), proper brown noses that think the world shines out of the managements' arse. It's never all rosy and nice, there's always stuff bubbling under the surface!

British food is awesome. Steak and Ale pie? COME ON!

Hey man, welcome to the community!
-
Fingers crossed nobody here got affected. It's quite common to ramp up at the end of production and then let people go. Were these people on temporary contracts or not? If they were though, I'm sure it wouldn't have made the news.. Hmmm. Sorry to hear it! It's never nice.

Or do you mean a mountain that you can walk on in-game? If so, then displacements is probably easier.
-
You can get a lot more definition with models, that's for sure. Displacements are trickier to work with, but if you have no modelling experience then go for displacements

I think Cobble's 3d skybox mountains are a unique model. Looks like they were created in World Machine, maybe.

HP is only able to communicate via memes tonight

Looking forward to this! Hope it's not as short as the first

What's the point of that optional QTE in that cutscene? Press Circle to dodge? Then you get to choose how to kill some random guy? That's just weird. Why can't I just shoot that guy, what makes him so special that I get to beat him up with button presses?
Also, I love how long they showed the weapon in the crate for. "Hey guys, look at our new PBR stuff! IT LOOKS SO REAL. LOOK AT IT!!!!! LOOK AT IT!"
-
I don't mean to sound harsh to you guys that worked on it, but it does look like a copy of PVZ, from the name, down to the art style, and even down to the gameplay from the looks of it. Not decrying the quality of the game, that's just my observation from watching that video.

Few little teasers have been shown.. Nothing amazing, but the music is nice

-
So far I've only managed to get up to around 40 people, I keep on restarting every day because I'm a perfectionist hehe!
How many woodcutters do you have? You might need to get a couple more woodcutters to allow faster production. Are you running out of trees/logs? Or are your people just consuming more wood than you're producing?
-
Yeah good point Koko. It definitely needs some scenario stuff, that would be really cool

Just buy caesar/pharoah on GoG you will get far more time with a better sim game at only $5.
Quote from BeckI have always wanted a city builder where I just build a city without the combat. May have to check this out!
I can recommend this game, Tropico, Anno or caesar/pharoah if you want that.
I played Tropico and it was too complicated and the mechanics were often confusing and hidden. I don't necessarily want that level of depth, i want a cozy as fuck game that makes you feel like you accomplished something.
Yeah I played Tropico quite a bit and I found it way too easy and half the time I didn't even have any idea the effect I was having on my citizens.

Thanks for your support! I'm doing great things for the industry right now. For example, just today, before lunch, I've fixed 10 collision meshes to make YOUR experience that much better.
You're welcome.

Don't get me wrong, I am really enjoying it. It's a lovely little game. I just wish there was more to do further down the line, that's all. It still has a great deal of potential

-
Ya I've been playing it a lot, started on hard... Doesn't seem that difficult really, once you get a good source of food sorted, you're pretty much on easy mode. What is there to do later?

Yeah I read that the other day. I don't think it will particularly affect DayZ development to be honest, I don't think he has a particularly big impact on development any more... But I dunno. Seems a bit weird that he is just jumping ship. I think he runs the risk of potentially ruining his credibility if he just keeps on leaving projects shortly after they just get started... Who wants a guy like that on their team?
I've been playing shitloads of DayZ standalone recently, and it is such a brilliant experience. One of my favourite games of the past few years. Sure, it's buggy as shit and might look shitty in parts, but it is so damn intense. Been playing with a couple of mates from uni, and we're having an awesome time! The gun combat in the game is absolutely brutal...
