Ahh ffs I wish Guardians was just its own thing. I don't wanna see Ironman running around with Chris Pratt.

Bastard.

After a long project, you do normally get quite a big staff turnaround. From my experience, a lot of people, myself included, suffer from 'grass is always greener' syndrome (an actual medical condition), where you always see the flaws of the company you work for, and think things are always gonna be better elsewhere.
Chances are, other studios will just have their own set of problems, and things won't neccessarily be better.
But who knows, that's just from my experience.

That looks great man, it's really coming along. The darker road looks cool. Maybe experiment with getting some decals on it at some point, some road markings etc.
Lovely stuff man!

Anybody seen this yet? I saw it last night and thought it was incredible. Good mix of action, sci-fi, and comedy. And the soundtrack was amazing too!
-
Minos, I wonder if it'd look better if the road was a bit darker? In general the scene is very mid-grey. The reflections might look even cooler on a dark surface!

Yeah don't get me wrong, the first time you put on a headset, it's an incredible experience. There is so much potential there, just gotta keep chipping away at it.

I work with VR every day, and I think the biggest downside to it so far is resolution. It really lets it down. I've tried Morpheus (obviously!) and Oculus, and I think the quality of the DK2 is better than the current Morpheus prototype. But only slightly better.
I also hope more games are developed around the idea of VR. Elite is a perfect game for it, tried a bit today and it's an awesome experience. I would love to see some kind of first person astronaut game too, where you get to fly around a shuttle or a space station exterior, left thumbstick controlling your movement, right thumbstick controlling your pitch/yaw etc. Imagine flying in one of these bad boys, perfect VR game!

Thanks mate!
Haven't had a great deal of time to work on this much since my last post. I'm currently in a similar position to Minos, my mother in law is stopping with us til Sunday lol.
However, I have had an idea for the entrance of the bunk room. I'm thinking of making a sort of jetbridge kinda thing with 2 airlock doors. The idea being that these bunk rooms are modular and can just bolt on or off depending on what is needed, and can also be used as an escape pod. Should break up the room a bit and look quite cool as an entrance!

Some bastard at work told me the plot of the Last of Us. Kinda ruined the experience for me. I still wanna try it out though!

Oooh this looks ace. I'm very intrigued.

At first I said 'glad you're rid of the stigma of crytek' but didn't mean to offend anybody still at Crytek.

Best of luck with the transition dude. It's nice to have options!
-
That's good news then Paul, glad you're rid of the stigma of the Crytek situation. That can't have been a nice thing looming over. You manage to keep your job then I take it?

I let my wife play the game this time around, while I watch. Surprisingly fun to do that... you're always giggling every couple of minutes...
She kept saying the game made her feel funny and weird (sense of urgency). lol
God damn you guys are so flippin kinky!
