When I finally broke free of LE I found myself very quickly in LEM. I dipped a couple of times, but that was my next stable rank.
I think it has something to do with the crazy number of DMGs, a very popular smurf/alt rank, but also due to the high number, you often play a full lobby of DMGs. When you hit that first eagle, you start getting LEMs and occasionally the odd SMFC, which makes ranking up easier if you win, as they would theoretically be more difficult and consequently offer a larger reward. It works the other way as well in which you aren't expected to do as well against them and maintain the rank.
Those are my thoughts anyway, having been pinging between DMG and SMFC for a while.
I've never heard so many acronyms in one post.

Awesome dude. what you goin over there for, to meet the UWE guys?
Aye. All of us, pretty much. Because Subnautica works really well with VR Valve has invited us up to see them as they're doing a little conference on their VR set

That sounds amazing dude, what an opportunity. Have a great time!

Legendary Eagle? Pfft, I got to Mythical Hawk yesterday. Yay! One step up from Fabulous Vulture.

Awesome dude that's really informative. Love your moodboard, it's simple and to the point and really shows great progression! You kept to it really well

Don't worry about the foliage, it doesn't stick out as much as it used to.
Anyway, let us know when voting is up, you got mine
This is probably one of the best examples of UE4 I've seen so far! -

It seems like the kind of game probably best enjoyed blind, so as much as I want to I'll resist watching the gameplay demo.

The 'games for the blind' market was always a bit niche, so I'm happy with this! Stevie Wonder gave it 2 thumbs up.
Also, I love that this game takes place in Shropshire; that's where I'm from! Never thought anybody would make a game based there, hehe.

Well.. What is it? Give us more info!

I think you have to build power plants on or near oil/coal reserves, or maybe have some way of transporting the fuel. Not sure!

Awesome Mazy! Best of luck dude, hope you enjoy it!
Could somebody put me back under Creative Assembly on the first page? I'm back there now and really loving it

Woah sorry dude I didn't see your question. My default CLUT was found on the Unreal wiki, it seemed to work fine for me!
Got a bit of news on this scene. Epic contacted me a while ago asking if I'd like to put this on the Marketplace and I said I didn't want to charge for it.. So they asked if I'd like this scene to be included on the 'learn' tab of the UE4 launcher! I wrote a piece of documentation about material instancing to go with my scene and it's being put up on the learn tab too. It's now in the official UE4 documentation! Really humbled that Epic think this scene is worthy of going up on the UE4 launcher alongside those other scenes which are incredibly high quality.
You can read it here. The scene isn't yet up on the learn tab though, I'll let you know when it is!

I'm constantly getting calls and emails from recruiters.. But I've never actually used one to get a job, I usually just try and go through a friend/acquaintance that already works there. Recruiters do tend to try and oversell every single job, and they might not be completely honest about the company. Makes sense really, after all they are trying to get a commission.
If I were you, I'd keep trying with your indie stuff. Or if that gets a little too difficult, then apply to places yourself and do it on your own terms.
