ok guys, could you try this fix:
1.) Take this file: http://%7boption%7d
and uncompress it to the /steam/steamapps/common/dear esther/platform/vgui/fonts/ folder (overwriting any files that already exist)
2.) and then take this file: http://%7boption%7d
and stick it in
/steam/steamapps/common/dear esther/resource/
and tell me if it makes things any better?

Hmmm interesting, so your regional language is set to Swedish in windows?
-
can you post your sys specs, language you're running in, etc? Thanks!
-
Can anyone who owns the game on steam please do me a favour, just run it and tell me if the main menu font looks like this:

Dear Esther has just been released for the Mac! and for those of you who were holding off because of the price it's also now only half price on Steam! http://%7boption%7d
For anyone wondering, If you've already bought the Pc version, you'll automatically get access to the Mac version and vice versa! Go buy! I need money for crack!
Oh yeah and for those with dual and triple monitors, i also made up some nice wallpapers to celebrate: http://%7boption%7d

yeah I built a PC recently with similar (if not higher) specs minus the extremely excessive 64GB Ram (seriously, you do not need more than 16gb!), and with a 1tb drive + an OCZ 120gb ssd and it only came to around $3000
Also, dont waste your money on a quadro unless you are doing some serious CAD work.

Didn't realize you were involved in TH:LS! Do you know what exactly happened to the franchise and to Neil?

I think Neil just lost interest and the project died pretty much right there. It was a shame really, it could have been a great game with some extra work.

Some reeealy old stuff from before I worked on Nuclear Dawn (2005) - t'was going to be an intro train ride for a mod called City 13:

I re-used some of the assets when I started making my now abandoned mod, The Willows: (2007)

The code was pretty much finished and it could handle 1000's of zombies in the world at one time...

All on Source.
Looking at those shots tempts me to revisit The Willows someday...maybe...

you might be down one ball, but your bollock-to-man ratio is higher than mine will ever be! respect!

Cool, if you guys are willing to do some testing, could you PM me your Steam IDs please?
-
Huff, MMORPG? im not sure I like the idea of that, I especially don't like the idea of it being set outside of Russia/pripyat. I'm getting more and more tempted to make my own stalker game everyday...
I also agree with Buddy on this one.

quick question, does anyone here own a Mac and a Steam account?
-
Thanks for the recommendations guys, the Sony Nex certainly looks appealing, although i'm a bit concerned about the lack of a flash, seems like this would make it pretty useless in low light conditions, right?
Lol insta, did you seriously just suggest buying an iPad?!

Hi all,
So im shopping around at the moment for a good compact digital camera, by 'compact' I just mean something that can easily fit in my pocket. I've had a DSLR for years (which also needs upgrading) which is great but I'd really like to get something a bit more portable for vacations, birthdays, outings, more causal stuff etc. I realise I will probably not be able to get anywhere near DSLR quality by going compact, but i still want to go for as good quality as I can get, preferably something that also works well in low lighting conditions.
I have a couple in mind, such as the Fujifilm Finepix X10/X100 or the Canon PowerShot S100, but was wondering if anyone here has any recommendations?
I don't mind forking out on price (within reason) if it means i'm getting something that will last.
Cheers!

Followed this a bit over at polycount and I'm really glad that this kind of optimization mindset is promoted. It's an impressive scene and no doubt good use of texture memory there. It's kind of a fresh breeze among all the "2048x2048 normal, diffuse, spec" trashcan props out there.
Quoted for truth!
As an optimisation freak myself this scene is an inspiration!

yep that's just a short except from the remastered soundtrack by Jessica curry! Tried vimeo but they have all kinds of weird rules about video games and to post a game trailer you need to have a pro account...
-
Thanks guys!
Not long to go now! Is anyone here going to GDC this year? I'll be there for IGF and the rest of it.Btw, there's a much higher quality version of the trailer on our site: http://dear-esther.com/?p=535
