With a bit of polishment (maybe custom content) I see a spotlight level coming there.

The only thing thats bugging me are those modern looking crates, they don't fit the look and feel in screen3.

Hmm the second shot is really yummy.

If your shooting for a film noir feel, you might add some kind of subtle noise or ageing effets to the screenoverlay, whatever it is.

    Nice building ma michis.

I can already imagine the sun casting some nice shadows into the pool room, with all that bars in the windows.

I like Evert's Idea of having a short singleplayer experience with a gameplay of 15 or 30 minutes.

Also we shoudln't focus on a single limitation like map size.

    My thoughts for a contest:

    - create a map with about 15 minutes of exciting gameplay

    - no map size limitation

    - the goal is to create a different gameplay experience which is short and intense

    - no custom content

I think it's important not to allow custom content, since people will tend to start too ambitious projects then, which leads to fail the deadline. Even though, the deadline should prevent people from doing that.

All in all it will be about to create something along the lines of Lost Coast.

I'm having the same thoughts. Hopefully, all the promising next gen games, will be more then just eye candy. Even though some really seem like.

    Let's just hope the best.

While talking about upcoming games... hurry with ET:QW! I want that editor!

    Sounds like a plan Rick.

FMPONE: Yes it's my first. Glad you like it. Sadly, time didn't allow me to get more in depth about all the possibilitys source offers but it's been a nice excursion.

If people agree to it I will upload any maps that have not yet been added

My last spark of hope to enter the contest. I know I'm late but can the map still be added to the pack? I'd be ueber happy

    Anyway here it is:

I have to learn how to light in Source in the next few hours

Haha had to learn it too today . It's pretty unfamiliar if you're used too doom3 engine, I found myself hitting F7 on the keyboard numerous times out of reflex.

Brushes and patch meshes. Models are pretty rare compared to source.
