i didn't want to confuse you ![]()
the idea is more or less a ancient (sounds new and innovative, right?) whatever with some meteorite shards/splitter... the cool thing is to see this in motion, it has a very nice shader on it (imo).
btw: i'm pretty proud that i use all custom textures and prefabs.

oh, this is so cheap... actually it's too early to criticize, i haven't worked on it much yet. btw: its for UT2004.
QuoteThat is exactly why I bought a 360. I hated the fact I had to upgrade my computer multiple times just to make it the best and run games as top quality and not at medium settings. With the 360 I can lay back in a beanbag or on the couch and just relax while I play instead of sitting inches away from my monitor. Its not that don't PC game any more, I still do, but the fact I can be as relaxed as possible is a main selling point for me.Plus a lot of games that are multi release for consoles and PCs are generally developed for consoles now anyways, so I might as well play the game the way it was intended.
but don't forget the HDTV, which might be standard in the US, but it is not in europe (+its about twice as expensive)...
TomWithTheWeather: i completely agree with you, play it on the platform it was designed for (think of the control of RE4 on GC and PS2 (which is imho worse)).
nah, cliffyb once said there won't be a pc version (since microsoft is the publisher) but a few days later a microsoft guy (peter moore?) said he can imagine a pc version...
but my comment has nothing to do with that, i just don't want to afford an xbox360 (and i won't).
wasn't epic saying, that games shouldn't cost more than 49.90?
i want to know the release date of the pc version ![]()
Defence Alliance 2 Recruitment
Back in 2001 a mod for UT99 was released, which was about COOP play versus AI driven monsters. The mod was so successful, it was obvious that there will be a successor for the new technology.
It was in early October of 2005 when DA2 had it's first release for UT2004. Many players experienced the new gameplay changes. DA2 is a now about Assault, where one team is attacking and the other one defending.
Players have the abbility to build additional defences, such as differant types of turrets.
DA2 features six differant classes, which includes the medic, mechanic, anti armor, machine gunner, sniper and rifle man, with each of there own special abbilities.
We are now moving to Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 by Tripwire Interactive. RO:O is based on the Unreal Engine 2.5 and has some nice features like bloom, which we think will make DA2 even better.
The game itself is up and running, we are at this point adding small features, such as the first vehicles. Also we have already converted some maps (so you CAN play it right now!).
Defence Alliance 2 will be available through Steam® and will require Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 in order to work, and regular download for UT2004.
In the future we which to add serveral new weapons and vehicles, such as tanks and dropships. And perhaps bring back CO-OP gameplay, like it was used to be in DA:ut
Still we could need some help:
- Coder: You should be familiar with Unreal Script, especially with vehicle coding (maybe some knowledge of Karma).
- Modeller: You duties would be modelling Map Objects, Characters and Vehicles. Note that we can't expect that you know all of these tasks perfectly, if you are for instance great at Vehicle Modelling, we would be interested.
- Animator: Rigging + Animation.
- Leveldesigner: You should know UnrealEd like the back of your hand.
- Webdesign/PR: We need someone who can get us some attention
.
Please note that we seek ACTIVE and MOTIVATED members. If you are not sure about this or you don't know if you have the skills, please join our IRC channel #da on irc.gamesurge.net.
If you want to join, please contact us by email or irc. It would be very very helpful if you have something like an online portfolio, to show us some of your work.
