I find it quite inspiring browsing CG art forums like Sijun (speedmodel thread <3). People there do crazy stuff.
However the (my?) biggest task is staying focused...

Happy New Year everyone!
Actually, a Rocket didn't take off, so everyone was running ... funny to see sparks left and right outrun you.
That was accidental.
But then we did this intentionally ![]()
ps: no one was injured.
Thanks a lot!
I've been messing around with self illumination, however i get strange results like lit edges
(mostly because of ShaderFX and their parallax implementation, since it doesn't really occlude). Someone knows a good renderer for parallax mapping (like Unrealed4)? ... anyways:

i use a wlan-router to connect to the intarwebs, however i've heard that you can use a usb-dongle (for example the one from nintendo for the ds) ... not 100% sure on that, hit google.
@opera: pretty nice, however my pc is right next to my tv, so ...
looks nice, good job freakman!
update on the texture:

this thread deserves a "bump", a wip:

so when you are talking of "proof of concept", what is so special about it?!
you can have a 32k² mesh in pretty much every game nowadays (i guess so?) with multiple texture layers... the only interesting sentence i read in the various interviews is that you can have one diffuse map (and height?) @ 32k². but this on artistic side not very handy. and if it is just 32² times a 1024² texture with some variation, you can have this by standard methods (repeating a texture and blending others "in" by with vertex colors, alpha layer, layer masks, ...).
so what is so special about mega texture?!
I'm also very interested in this digicam thing. I own a Canon Powershot a510 (with video(clip) function).
feel free to write a pm.
Warby, so awesome!
(I might consider reinstall CSS when your map comes out)
i think they did this so that we can put some money aside, so it will be no problem to buy the console at start (maybe to get a second job)... thank you sony for making thoughts on our financial situations!

wiihihihuhahahahahahahahahahahaahhahahaha
hey michi (still know me
?)
the idea behind the picture is pretty cool imo, but the lens flare is too exagerated as well as the "heat haze".
i would suggest you using bloom and leaving other effects aside (if you find a good renderer maybe add 'some' DoF+heat haze).
just my two cents, but please cut lens flare ![]()
it has 'some' color ![]()
