Thanks... you don't see the normal map well in those pictures because they have very subtle lighting. Here's a comparison shot for you - smooth, normal, normal+diffuse:

The zombie version is still very WIP

I didn't mean to offend you, I'm just teasing a bit. You've got a good yet mysterious look, that's all.

    Thanks guys

Erratic, you will have to recompile the models and make sure the normal bump material flag is set in 3dsmax, that's how it worked for me atleast. Only problem is I can't disable the normal map in hlmv now but that's not really an issue.

Here's a better shot, completely finalized:

Don't mind the eyes. Normal map not displayed in this one, it's a hlmv shot and its normal map function is still screwed. Grr...

edit: the hair is finally done it took me three hours straight, tiling this was a real pain too. Time to zombiefy...

edit: got the normal maps working!

Ah, sorry! I misunderstood you - I thought you meant three different photo sources. My bad Then you've got a good set of textures. About the windows, just try to sharpen them a bit. In PSCS2 I usually use Noise>Reduce noise> and then the sharpen details slider.

Besides the bottom there is a noticable repetition in the top trim, wall and windows. I see no point in making a texture this big if it's already repeated. My suggestion is a tileable 256x512 texture without the windows and without repeating spots. The windows should best be applied as decals. And another thing, your texture is not a power of two (2^x, ie. 256, 512, 1024 or 2048 for example). I don't know which engine this is for but if it's source it will not work. Other things to mention is that the windows are pretty blurry which makes them stick out in a bad way. I don't know if you want a photo look, right now it looks a little painted but maybe that's the look your aiming for. Overall it's a texture with nice potential though.

Yes, but we are not living in the age of HL graphics anymore. It's nice of you to provide these textures though, some may find them quite useful.

My advice would however be to not waste time on tiling the textures, I think many artists would want to do that themselves, at least I would.

An advice for the future: please avoid sharp shadows when you are taking photos of your textures. We have shaders to take care of that kind of shadowing nowadays, try to have the lighting as diffuse as possible. You should also try to have your camera focus on your motive. Blurry photo textures are pretty useless imo as they require alot of post work, sorry

Anyways, just words of advice for the future. I like your spirit though, keep it up

If anyone can dig out a photo of Dreaded Fist you would see much stronger Gordon Freeman resemblence.

Sorry man, but you are Gordon Freeman.

I'm really impressed D3ads! My absolute favourite is "Payback (01)", got a fantastic feel to it. Your work does well compare to the old stuff of the top level designers of today. Now go do some kickass source stuff
