lol, I should have probably mention this is also a bit of researching for something I've been cooking at home.
Here's a few more examples:

Hey guys,I was wondering what your favourit environment hazards are in video games? Or some of the most memorable? Curious to see what you guys come up with. Doesn't matter what, all the way from the metal spikes that kill you in Sonic the Hedgehog, Lava ground in Mario games, the boulders coming down slopes in Zelda: Breath of the wild, the Barnacles in Half Life, I think you get the idea.[Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/HdySIzr.jpg]Ultimately, what I'm most curious is what are some of your favourit environment interactables, but specifically the ones that have gameplay implications, such as killing you or damaging you, but not limited to that? We've done the faucets that open, toilets that flush, lightswitch that turn off lights in the room, but these don't mean much for gameplay other than a interesting addition to the game levels.I don't know if you agree with me or not, but environment interactions are one of the most underused gameplay elements in video games, usually combat gets all the attention, but Zelda got me thinking we can do so much more with the virtual worlds we play in.

heh, nope, Dion makes all our foliage. :]
-
Yeah you got it, usually less shit on the colormap makes foliage looks better, cos it gets repeated a lot.
PS. Even the normal map, usually I just blur the shit out of the normal map so it's smoother and reduce the intensity to like 50% or less.
-
Don't overthink the custom normals, just make a sphere around the mesh and transfer the normals of the sphere onto your bush! This trick works for 99% of the foliage.
-
Cool stuff, you using custom normals?
I can still see a bit of tilling, but nothign major and nothing no one would even care during gameplay.
I'd be curious to see it with less information on the color map, the tips of nearly ever leaf are getting too bright, resulting in a tad noisy look. What I usually do is I reexport the colormap with just the color green, and slowly bring some information in, gradients, then cavity, then AO. Just saying this because usually meshes like this are more important that they look better from afar than when stepped closed to them. More often than not all you need is big gradients, not detailed leaf textures.

I tried it twice and twice I got in line with 2000 people ahead of me, only for that number to get to zero and get a "failed to connect". now the beta is over... lol

My grandma would guess that one Sprony.....

Great shot chris, might feel a tad underexposed and lacking "punch" to the bright areas. So happy to see this thread taking off, let's keep it going dudes and dudetes!

Ok, one more:

No, I'm glad we're talking about it man, this exact same topic has been on my mind countless times before, and i do have my probs with it. It's definitely an interesting discussion to have because it delves deep into what makes these kind of games fun.
In the end of the day, it's all down to choice. In the perfect world, if you do do opt to go all the way the pacifist route, it should probably be the harder way to beat the game, but it should also be possible.
One thing both Dishonored games did really well though, better than any game in this genre is that it doesn't necessarily penalize you too much for killing one NPC. In any other game, it's usually game over, you have to restart the level.
In Dishonored, at least the first one, if you start to rack up too many kills, the game will react to it, if my memory serves me right, you had thougher enemies and more rats. If you go pacifist then the game won't do that, but it also wont ruin your game if you do need to kill a guy or two per mission. I loved that about the game, I'm not sure Dishonored 2 does that since i only played it once, but I'm assuming it does.
This obviously doesn't apply if youre going for achievements, but who cares about those anyway.

You trying to beat the game without even using darts? I think you'd need some serious OCD and patience to do that lol, but it sounds feasible.
I think you're trying to use a way to play this game that it's not very fun and you're blaming the game for it. The game allows you to do that, but let's be honest even tho I'm sure the game was designed to let you do that, if you're not having fun doing it just play the game differently. I always do this in these kind of games (deusex, dishonored, etc) I start out sneaking then eventually I amassed such a bad-ass arsenal on me it'd be a shame not to use it! xD

Yeah, usually there's one option hidden somewhere under graphics options that just makes your computer crawl. lol

If anyone's on the fence about this, definitely try the demo! This game does a lot of things right.

At the danger of being a bit of an asshole, I asked for a refund on this. I don't think I've ever done that before.
