Hélder [HP] Pinto - DeusEx Ultra High Quality Config V0.1

    Download: http://rapidshare.com/files/151889632/D ... d_V0.1.rar

    Mirror #1:

Increase the quality of DeusEx with this Ultra High Quality config.

I am not the author of HDTP or ENBSeries, I simply placed and tweaked those two together to achieve optimal graphical quality.

I didn't had the opportunity to fully test this, so if you spot any flaws on my installation guide, or anything really, please let me know by sending me a e-mail.

    - Better shadows and render contrast

    - Bloom

    - Bump Mapping

    - Ambient Occlusion

    - Specularity

    - Very high quality textures

    - Lightning improved

    Installing

    1. First of all, make sure you install HDTP-Release1 into DeusEx folder. (After install, it should create a HDTP shortcut on your desktop, if not, go to the game's system folder and make one, you'll be using HDTP.exe from now on)

    2. After that, copy all the contents of the folder "DeusEx Ultra High Quality Mod Files", and paste it inside the folder "System" on the game's folder. (Replacing all the existing files)

    3. Run HDTP.exe, the game should start, now go to Settings -> Display -> Rendering device, click "Show all devices" on the "DeusEx Video configuration" window, and select "Direct3D9 Support".

    4. Now, go back to settings, and select your favorite graphics resolution, and make sure to select 32bit on "Texture Color Depth".

    5. Select new game, and try it out. Pressing Shift + F12, disables and enables screen effects.

    Change Log & Bug Fixes

    Version 0.1 ~ release 07-10-2008

    First official release

    Notes:

    - You wont be able to use your old save files after installing HDTP.

    - Press Shift + F12, to disable and enable screen effects. This is useful to be able to better see the menu, due to exaggerated bloom.

    - To tweak the bump mapping, press Shift + Enter, you should see 6 options on the top of the screen, press a number from 1 to 6, and use PageUp and PageDown to tweak.

    - To tweak the D3d9 settings, press T, delete the "say" text, and type "preferences". Go to "Rendering" -> "Direct3D9 support", and tweak away!

Woa, woa... Tkx for sharing that with us Klein, although I'm both happy and sad at the same time!

So, CoD like health regenaration?! ffs, I know you people at eidos had lot's of reunions about this, and came to the conclusion that, "oh well, CoD has it, Halo has it, and casual gamers like it because it facilitates the gameplay", well that's the thing, it facilitates the game and that sucks imho!

I agree with Dux, the industry has not grown towards that aspect, the industry has changed and although I obviously understand you guys want to grab the attention of other gamers apart from the hardcore fans, I don't that fact.

    Quote

I know some people actually liked the exact scenario I just described but this is a decision the team made.

Fuck yeah I liked it! In DX1 there were lot's of medpacks, and It's pretty awesome to search the world for them, and somewhere on the game you get a "health regeneration" augmentation that regenerates your health in exchange of cell energy! And as you progress on the game, you can upgrade this aug so it wont waste too much energy, This my friends is a fucking RPG element, resources managing, not sit in a corner and suck on your thumb until you're at full health!

But oh well, the team has already made that decision and we'll have to live with it.

Other than that, I guess Eidos is doing a good work, judging by the community manager's words. I guess I can live with all the other aspects mentioned, including the 3rd person thingy, which is obviously made thinking about console gamers, but whatever... I especially like how he keeps on repeating "Don't worry, we have it just like DX1 and not like IW!"

Oh, just look who he is!

So, you did ended up ditching CryEngine2 and migrated to another engine huh? I remember you saying CE2 has lot's of limitations for your "vision" for that mod, as you wanted to create an immense open and free world, how did you worked that out with this new engine? I'm curious now...

Chris is right. You should change the backstory away from the real Jurrasic Park franchise and give it a different name or this will be shut down by the IP owners earlier or later.

rotfl, don't bother Stepp! he as been warned thousands of times in the past.

Sounds good to me, not sure about the whole security officer thingy tho.

In DX1 you were a manufactured super soldier, trained to be a killing machine to join UNATCO later on, so it all started with some importance for the main character right away, and all the plot circles around him.

so I don't see if choosing to play with a security officer working for a biotechnology firm is a good idea or not, it sounds like some security officer got curious and suddenly started to poke his nose and discovering governs secret?! Mmm, I dunno but I'll wait to see before I start criticizing!

dux, DX1 takes place in 2052, DX3 takes place in 2027, exactly 25 years which I believe it's the exact age of JCDenton, so this is the year JC was born, probably. So I guess most of the plot will be around that, therefor if you see JC or Paul Denton, they will be fetus or just kids. I'm just speculating here.

Edit, just remenbered Morpheus mentions JC is 23 years old!

    Quote

JC's origins are muddled in the game. In Area 51, a datacube reveals JC's date of inception as March 17, 2054, with an "assigned birth date" of March 17, 2029. Since Deus Ex takes place in 2052 this would mean JC is physically 23 years old (this is supported by the fact Morpheus mentions JC is 23), and he was growth accelerated to his biological age. This would be assuming that the inception date was incorrect. This leaves no room for most of his original backstory, unless the acceleration was somehow irregular or his memories are in fact false (which raises serious questions about his relationship with Paul). Another datacube contains an email about "creating genetically viable candidates for nano-augmentation through cloning", speculating that "in the future, this process could be streamlined through the application of accelerated growth and memory implantation", which lends some credence to this theory. This leaves open the possibilities that JC and/or Paul are the result of such a process (and that all references to their past and their parents are forged) or that the datacube with JC's age (and the appearance of fully-grown clones in tubes) is simply an inconsistency introduced by development of the game. Given the complexity of the plot of Deus Ex and its numerous twists, neither can be discounted.
