I've been thinking about jailbreaking mine as well! And I also might need to network unlock, although I don't know how to, and if it works flawless.
There are shitloads of funny and useful apps for iphone, like Shazam! Every iphone owner should try that out, it works like a charm, It's even creepy!

Anyways, I use SteadyCam for taking pictures, It's slower but it takes pics with a lot more quality.
- Google App
- 7Arte (A portuguese app, to see which movies are currently on the cinemas)
- iTranslate
- The Weather Channel (Although the stock app for weather also works well)
That's it really, I got a couple more small apps, nothing important. And I also got shitloads of games, Topple currently being my fav!

PS. What's ScummVM for?

The textures are mostly grey and could use with some more color and intensity variation. Those blue tubes help a little bit, and break the monotony but still, something doesn't fit in that scene, hard to put into words.
Probably It's all this grey and lit lighting, looking forward to see some more!
PS. Remember that red and yelow lights also look really great on this sci-fi scenes.

I understand your point hessi, really do. But you didn't stated any possible "fix" for this. What would they do?
Picking an engine it's like picking a O.S. to work with, you tend to pick the one which is more "mainstream" and "standard", and nowadays, game engines speaking, those choices are definitely UE and CE2.
I think it's a good choice for them to pick one engine, maybe teach the students the basis of the tools, and get them to make a game concept. I still think the student should be free to choose any other game engine apart from the one it has been taught to use tho, like you'r are not forced to use Windows on university! At least not where I live...
Bottom line, choose a mainstream engine. And use it to teach the students!

eh eh, yeah, I've been postponing it all this months... I only played the demo when It came out, and never really had the chance to buy the full game.
Actually I was waiting to buy the PS3 version, I read it has some issues fixed, and some kewl bonus, but oh well, the low price seemed appealing to me on steam with all this surprise discounts, so yeah...
Played it for an hour, so far a really incredible game!

Got it on steam for 5€!

Try using mentalray or something.
But why would you need shadows? The mesh isn't even textured.
Also, you can always import the mesh into an engine, for better view of the materials!

But, if you insist on using max's viewport, then I suggest using a DX shader, like Doylles shader over at Game-artists

To clarify, that trailer was not made by Uwe!
I know 90% of us in here already know that, but...
lol, poor man, I feel pity for that lost soul.

Didn't knew any mapcoreans still use pens to write! (jk, ahah)

Yeh, and Prey was Doom3 engine!
And if my memory doesn't fail me It was the most expensive engines at the time.
Btw, I loled at the strippers hair!
jeez, mipmapping is definitely the texture artists worst nightmare on this gen! -

-once you get the light saber in hong-kong and thats 1/3 into the game there is no need to use any other weapon anymore.
I kinda agree with this one, yeah. its definitely one of the most overpowered weapon I've seen in a game. you can even kill a boss with only 2 or 3 hits.
Quote-those spider bot that zap you and take your augmentation energy down OMFG annoying and you cant hit em properly with your sword either.
Yeah well, It's suposed to only be able to knock them out with EMP grenades or LAMs.
Quote-those fucking security cameras they spot you instantly even if you only peak around a corner for a split second and the sound they make is soooooooo annoying and they wont shut up even if you successfully hide for at least 30 seconds D: and why cant i just shoot them ?
The sound the security cameras does when they instantly see you, "pipipipipi" Is NOT the alarm itself, It's more like a "What? Is that movement?" and if you stay in sight of the camera for more than 2 seconds when that sound is beeping, then the actual alarm goes on! I can't believe you actually beat the game not knowing this, lol.
Quote-every one out of 3 times i boot up the game all the voices in the game are horribly distorted my ears are still bleeding. this might have something to do with all the graphics stuff i installed.
Jeez, am I the only person in the world who absolutely LOVE DeusEx voice acting? Especially Paul and JC voice, so well done!
Quote-whats the point of having a locker that takes 2tools and only has a candy bar and soda inside ? people are just gonna quick save before and after and see if they want to make that trade off. dead space recently handled this issue way better: you could use a power node to open a door to a storage room that would always hold a roughly equivalent value inside spread over a diverse number of objects there would always be ammo and health and all sorts of stuff that you might need right at that point.
This is actually a good thing you know? And it ads a lot to the realism of the game, a locker needs 3 pics, and you go and pick it, and there's only a soda in there!
I seriously think that is awesome, and it ads to the whole RPG thingie. (Even tho, yes, I always quick load when this hapens, eh eh eh) -

Products on Steam are now priced using local currency in the United Kingdom (Pounds Sterling), and Europe (Euros). All other countries remain in United States Dollars.
Ah ah, basically, us Europeans are now... How do I put this gently... fucked!
Quoting a Kotaku article:
Sounds innocent enough, right? Nope. All currencies are equivalent for pricing purposes. So a $9.99 game costs €9.99 and £9.99. Quick check of the exchange rates shows that is, in US Dollars, $9.99, and $13.85 and $14.83, respectively.
Put another way, Call of Duty 4, a $49.99 title, would be equivalent to $69.35 and, working backward, amounts to about a €14 difference, or an extra 25 percent that Valve (and the publisher) make on the exchange.
Edit: Oh and yeah,a group has been set up on Steam to protest the difference.
