and the whole stuff about Endrant and the Raven layoffs didn't do anything good for confidence either.
That's far from being one of the reasons why It's selling so badly, gamers don't care if the employees are layed off.
It's too bad though, but I have to admit I saw it coming. I bought my copy on the week it came out, and I'm half way trough the game. So far it's a so-so game, the hospital level was pretty good though!
it's the exteriors that are a bit of a disappointment. The interiors can look pretty good though! (Typical D3 engine based game syndrome)

So, they're still using his name on the case huh? I guess It may serve as a kind of homage!

I hope there's more to it than the trailer show, but it looks damn promising!
Dicaprio is acting on some pretty decent movies on the last couple of years.

Oh... good old Photoshop and 3DsMax. Putting it simple, they are old applications with loads of patches on top of it. They just naturally evolved to the apps you see right now, which is not exactly a good thing sometimes.
Thing is, we got used to them, and we don't imagine ourselves using anything else, right?
Even with all the useless stuff, over-complicated UI's, etc... Probably the only way we would change to another apps are if the companies that worked on those apps all this years, used the knowledge they gained with it, and build another app from ground up.As 3d artists, our life is not easy, especially when things start getting complicated and you start adding another apps to your pipeline, like sculpting apps for example.
You can use 3dsmax, a sculpting app, a 3rd party unwrapper program, a texture baker (like xnormal), photoshop, etc. (not to mention the plugins that you may use for all and each of those apps) It gets messy, but you also get used to it... I don't see this life getting any easier for us any time soon.

"Many liked the daytime stages in Unleashed, but wanted to see a game that plays purely similar to the early games of the Genesis. Project Needlemouse is that critical first step that brings Sonic back to his 2D roots."
Kind of a weird game to be posting on mapcore perhaps, but holy fuck I grew up with sonic, and they basically shitted on their IP when sonic became 3d.

make sure you have the right options for the snapping (right click on the snapping tool and select/deselect what you want). easy way to snap to the right positions is also to create a single vertex and place it with the move tool box (right click as well) to the desired position and snap to vertex enabled.
That!
Snap function in max can be tricky, but one of the reasons is because of the high customization you have with it, so be sure to learn the tool.
But your problem definitely seems like a hardware / drivers problem.

Suck my @ss. I was watching violent movies by age 7 and I turned out just fine.

hl2ep2 foliage is pretty shitty, and the ground foliage, like grass and small bushes are billboards (!!!). Now for the trees, the planes are so low poly it hurts.
Obviously nothing beats Crysis 1 in terms of vegetation quality, but FC2 is pretty decent, and runs on consoles pretty well!

ah ah ah, omg this was the best gameplay vid so far! The whole thing feels like an action movie, and the audio / voice work is just hilarious!

ah ah, thank you very much you fellow mapcoreans!

SpicyTanuki, nope that other normal map, is called a detail normal map. it goes in the shader as a tillable normal map.
Nysuatro, actually, that's what I was trying to avoid, making another post-apocalyptic chair, with "gamey" style, know what I mean? I wanted to do something that looks real, something that you could have on your own apartment, something kinda new but with some use.

Good stuff man. Yeah, when we start a level, it generally drags for too long, you definitely know what it's like. Best thing is to specify a personal dead-line and get it done. A level is never done, only abandaned, It's only a matter of knowing when to abandon it.

So far, no complaints about you modelling work. Modelling wise, it does look very good. The textures / materials could do with a bit of tweak though, some of them look bland and doesnt blend with the rest of the level very well, just reduce the brightness of some of those difuses, and possibly increasing the saturation and dirt amount.
Those orange rocks on the beach look a bit repetitive, although it was some very nice and smart rock placement, i would just play with the color a bit and give it a little bit more variation, also, good thing you painted the terrain around the rocks
one of my favourite tricks as well. Place some decals in there as well, like dirt decals, just to give it more of a realistic and interesting style.
