    Some great pics on there. My favourite was the Resident Evil 5 re-enactment.[Blocked Image: http://static.totallycrap.com/2010/03/tWS1DRdxwqMe6JBW/sizes/totallycrap_com/iraq_135_totallycrap_com_750.jpg]

    And then I saw a screenshot of Left 4 Dead 2!

    Depends on the object really, but yeah apart from very very rare occasions, I never use a single smoothing group for the WHOLE object.

    Bottom line is, try to have as least smoothing groups as possible. Cos the shading comes from the normal map (high poly) not from the low poly, that's why some people just apply SG1 and let the normal map do the shading work. But this rarely works tbh!

    [unless you're using object space normal mapping, but that's topic for another day]

    It's a very complex topic, and highly disused on polycount, but like I said, try and keep the smoothing groups count very very low, so you can define some hard edges where you need to, (Like 90º angles) and let the normal map do the shading at the same time.

    Also, chanfering 90º angle edges might work and it's preferable to chanfer an edge and have those 3 polys use a single smoothing group, than break that edge with two separate smoothing groups. Not only you'll get a ugly hard edge on the bake, but also you'll have a higher number of vertices. (Yes, many smoothing groups actually increase the vertex count)

    I played Heavy Rain until my save file corrupted and I was having a great time actually. If anything, it makes you laugh at how cheesy and bad some of the scenes were made!

    (the scene where you have to change the diapers of a baby, or even cook an egg, ROTFL, wtf. But hey, I bet you never did that in a game before!

    )

    Art wise, it's top notch stuff. both characters, and environments, gotta give 'em that.

    prolly will give it a second chance when my gf comes over this week.

    Thanks man, but we already booked the hotel, it came with the ticket travel pack!

    We're staying in Tulip Inn Amsterdam Riverside, then a bus will take us to Utrecht. But we still need to find a way from the train station to the hotel, we'll prolly gonna take the metro, or taxi. I'll avoid Bus, or I might feel a urge to call the driver unpleasant names!

    I don't see anything in there that couldn't be achieved with HTML better and faster.

    And you forgot to put your name and portfolio URL on all your pics, you should do this.

    Apart from that, i absolutely love the content, really nice levels! You should also put a top view screenshot of each level (blue print sort thing) and / or flythrough of the levels. Cos these help to explain what kind of design is going on, since you're aiming towards a level design job in the industry, you should make it so the easier it is for employees / recruiters to see your work the better.
