Then buy a separate amp, 5 good speakers (especially the center) and a good subwoofer.

I can recomend http://www.bowers-wilkins.com/ As you know and heard already, I have that 'Mini' Theater pack, and it's fucking fantastic, but do some digging and make sure you visit a proper speaker-shop as well.

We do have a level editor liam...

Technically so do Guerrila, but they only named it that way to make the LD's shut up... god damn that made me facepalm.

    Extremly interesting presentation!

I was baffled to see they have NO level editor whatsoever, everything is made in maya, wut! (Which is, to the best of my knowledge the same workflow Naughty Dog uses)

Nah, its spot on, definitely getting there man, and don't worry, you can always fine tweak it later in PS! (No one needs to know!)

Btw dude, if you want, you can give it some vertex colors love. Like in the intersection where the walls and the roof meet are darker due to ambient occlusion (you can see it really well in the concept) you can mimic this effect easily with a nice vertex color gradient, we did that a lot in C2.

Did a few tests here at home, I recomend you create a file called user.cfg and put it in the root of the build (next to the system.cfg) and add the following commands:

    Code
    r_HDRRendering 3

    r_postMSAA 2

    r_PostMSAAEdgeFilterNV 2

    r_PostMSAAInEditingMode 1

    r_PostMSAAMode 2
    Display More

r_HDRRendering 3 is actually very important, it's needed because they implemented the new tonemapper in the renderer, but forgot to set that command to 3, it's still default to the old value, which is 2; which results in a really dark and contrasty image. (I'm assuming your using the most recent build, v3_3_9_3410)

You can do it in the editor preferences, (Tools -> Preferences -> Viewport -> General) but I would just put a camera on there, and tweak the camera values, cameras render the scene better I think. (don't ask)

You can switch between the camera and the perspective viewport, by right clicking on the "perspective" text on the top left and select your camera.

As for screenshots, you can try e_Screenshot 1 but It's buggy as hell, I would hide all the editor's tool bars, console, etc, to increase the viewport render space and just take a screenshot of the viewport. (Hopefully you got a high res monitor +1920)

Make sure you're using the highest MSAA settings possible, double click in the console input field, and search for "msaa" and tweak those values a bit, crank them up, then bring the shot into PS and resize down it slightly (1680x*** or something) to get rid of some of the Aliasing. (Don't forget to use Bicubic Sharper (best for reduction) profile)

    Couple hints:

Reduce the FoV of your camera, use something like a 25/30FoV, it will make everything less "stretched", and use an actual camera not the perspective viewport! You'll notice the differences when you try it out!

The scene needs a very slight fog. Fog helps everything, it gives depth to the scene and gets rid of the weird contrast. (Check your concept, there's actually a lot of fog going on, it's just a very light one, do the same)

LIGHTING! Place some deferred lights on there to simulate light bounces, and to give the scene a more believable look. At the moment you're using only one light in the scene, the sun. Light bounces around, you can mimic this easlily with as many deferred lights you want / need. Put a low dif value in the light, 0 in the HDR, and a very very low spec value, like 0.1.

Look at the concept, can you see any blacks? Apart from those few leafs in the foreground, and bellow the hut, there's none, the image is actually quite washed out, try and mimic the same effect.

Make the palm trees bigger and bushier, like in the concept, place moar! Also, are you using the vegetation shader? You should tweak the SSS values a bit more.

Your shadows are black/grey, look at the concept, shadows need to be light blue! Tweak your ToD!

The tex of those rocks on the left is horrible, just get rid of them and replace them by vegetation.

Here's an overpaint I did quickly, but as you can see, you really need to nail the fov, it's too high atm.
