Nice, that's how to make a great space movie based on an awesome book.

The movie left out a couple of the most memorable moments of the book, and it only scratched past some things that the book covers pretty much in depth, but you can only cram so much content in a 2 hour movie, so it's understandable.

Phenomenal movie, go watch it, Ridley Scott's best since Blade Runner.

That's the crux of zombie films for me, whether or not the populace has ever heard of a zombie.

In this day and age, it would be nice to see a zombie related production where the people (at least SOME of them) within it are aware of the concept of zombies.

It makes a lot of them really painful to watch for me when you find people incomprehensibly stupid. They're trying to talk to someone who's had their face chewed off and they are ambling towards them and they don't fucking react!

On a side note, I cannot wait for season 6 of TWD, season 5s ending was just so damn good.

My theory is that it's exactly because of that, that many zombie movies and series don't cover the first few days/weeks of the infection. Or if they do, they make it all happen too fast for anyone to even be able to react (Last of Us, Dawn of the Dead, etc)
But yeah agree, everyone knows or heard of the term zombie at least once or twice, why not just make use of that fact and go with it and actually enhance the product you're making? Ah well... And it's a shame they already skipped 9 days, it feels they skipped a lot of stuff that could have been really interesting, like more details on how they built the quarantine areas, how are they surviving with no supplies, etc.

Also, I know it's silly to complain about this kind of shit, but something else that really throws me off in zombie movies (to the exception of 28 days later) is that they can almost literally drink zombie blood when they blow zombies heads off without getting infected, this happens in almost every single episode of TWD, but a bite will surely do it? lol

and finished the main story. I'll post some thoughts about it later, but basically this is the lightest MGS when it comes to story but gameplay wise it's definitely the best, tops anything I played this year at the very least! I figure the whole industry will be talking about this game for years to come, for many many many reasons, not all of them good!

Here's an image to go with this useless post until I post some proper opinions.

Love having Quiet as backup too, although if I sneak up on some highly skilled soldier I want to fulton, and he spots me and I go in reflex mode, she usually manages to headshot him before I can grab him lol

Yeah, just give her the supressed tranq sniper riffle. :)

yeap, agree 100%. The only character that I cared about (the nerd guy with the knife) is pretty much gone, maybe he'll return and rule the world, since it seems like he's the only one with half a brain.

    What a glorious fucking game.

I'm getting better at attacking PFs now, i was constantly getting my ass kicked. It's so fucking intense when you're attacking and the player logs in to defend his base, or the flip of that, when you're out doing ops and you get a notification that your FOB is getting invaded.

Playing with a controller on PC instead of using a keyboard, so that might add to the problem, since you never feel like you have a good grip on your surroundings with a controller

Yeap, it's a bit annoying but it also feels very deliberate, I feel it's made to create that feeling of uneasiness and unnaturalness of crouching.

Last night I finished mission 28.

    Mission 28 (Code talker)

Holy shit that was fucking amazefuckingballs. My soldiers are back on the motherbase dying from this annoying fucking decease, I keep sending more of them to quarantine but they keep dying left and right, I need to find this Code Talker guy, and make him give us a cure, fast! I'm 60 hours into the game, I don't want a freaking virus to make all that work go to waste.

I went in with Quiet, then mist settles in, and I'm like, Oh shit... here comes those annoying skulls again, I'll just sneak around them like I've been doing in the game so far. But turns out it's a new kind of skulls, it's 4 sniper chicks. They can see you really well in the mist, so I think what the fuck I have a scoped tranq sniper and I got Quiet, I'm gonna try to bring these ugly bitches down.
Quiet goes down after we take the first skull down, I'm all alone in the middle of these creepy ass swamps with 3 supernatural snipers on my ass, my chin is in the dirt and I'm determined to bring them down, they killed my comrades after all. I manage to create a distraction by sending smoke grenades far away from me, they'd all skope on that area and I'd see the laser from their rifles and I took two of them down, although the last sniper is not falling from this trick, it seems like she learned and is not falling from the same mistakes the others did, so I bring this one down old school, mano a mano sniper fight reminiscent from The End in MGS3 until I bring her down.

It feels awesome, it felt like revenge, but I still gotta find that old man. I keep moving towards the designated area where he's supposed to be, turns out it's this gigantic mansion / hacienda in the middle of fucking nowhere, I need to sneak inside and find the guy. Security is heavy and they know I'm coming because I took down the 4 skulls. By using pretty much most of my gadgets on me, I manage to sneak my way inside without no one even seeing me, even managed to fulton a few Elite guards.

I find the dude, great cutscene plays and seems like he's willing to help. But now I need to piggyback this guy back to the helicopter and it seems backup is here and security got way tighter now and so much time has gone by, it's now daytime! So I figure, what the fuck, you know what I'm shooting my way out of here rambo style, explosions everywhere, bullets flying, I got a fucking tank blocking the path I need to go, it's a sweet ride too so I drop the old man next to a big rock and sneak my way in next to it and fulton the tank like a motherfucking boss.

I barely managed to get to the helicopter alive, but we did it, safe and sound, let's finally bring a cure to our comrades!

I was sneaking around and heard something moving in the grass, as I move my camera I notice that the sound is the sound of the camera itself going through the grass. rotfl, oh Kojima.

Also, while you're running if the camera swoshes past an object you hear a "swooosh" sound, ahah. it's details like this that make Metal Gear great!

That's the thing, I seriously doubt Eidos has any say in this.
