With any time travel / alternate universe related plot, there is going to be a lot of "discussion" surrounding how the plot unfolds or even makes sense. I also think that maybe one of the elements you're missing is that good and evil can be about perspective.
Indeed, the first Bioshock had a lot of that too.
As for Infinite, I only played it once and I was a bit too distracted looking at metal panels and wood textures to understand the story, lol. But Infinite has a lot of flaws in many regards, but at the same time it also has elements that I've never seen in a game before and I remember them feeling very fresh and fun, the sky hooks for instance were a joy to fuck around with. I really wanna play it again but if I'm gonna replay another Bioshock, the first one would probably be my first pick.

I am VERY hyped for this game, not only it looks absolutely incredible and unique it also looks fun as hell. It's also getting a lot of 10/10's.

Right, I took a 2 year break too and instead of looking back and feeling guilty I feel good that I did it because it brought me experiences and knowledge I wouldn't have otherwise. (Decided to read more, watch more movies, play more interesting games, take my photography serious, etc)
Although, with the flip of a new year I wan't to make something interesting related to games / game environments again, and there's no better time to do it but now with Unity, UE4 and VR finally coming, there's so much shit one can do the biggest challenge is picking the one that suits you best and only you can answer that question.

ahah, right, not as good as it could have been. But I just love the idea of a through analysis of Bioshock level design (Which this video unfortunately is not) that game is gold and tbh that's the reason I created the thread, to create a bit of a discussion about this game and what made it a classic, and level design is definitely one of the biggest pillars.
Quote from 2d-chrisThere was an interview on youtube I've seen recently with the level designer who made the first mission/intro to the game, I can;t find it, does anyone have a link? That's far more informative than this article about art deco
(for designers)You mean this? Yeap, great video.

Do you mean Micro ATX or standard ATX?
Standard ATX is great because you have lots of room for upgrades and they also tend to be cheaper and have more features than their micro-atx and mini-itx counterparts. Micro-ATX just sort of fits in the middle, its good for a build that is either smaller because you can't fit a bigger tower, or you need something that is more portable without sacrificing features and performance.
I just built a new rig a few months ago and looked into that but i quickly came to the realization that itx is smaller but with less features and more expensive so I went with standard ATX since I don't plan on hauling my computer around that often and I wanted to recycle my old dell xps tower.
So, basicaly when you go mini-itx, you go all in, as in you're limited to specialized smaller cases, smaller power supplies, you get the picture. It of course also has less RAM slots, less USB's, etc. If portability is a important form factor for you and don't mind the features sacrifice, then mITX might be good investment but be mindful of the sacrifices.

From the Game Informer article:
Both the BFG and Chainsaw are reaction weapons ala melee and grenades in other games. Both need ammo/fuel so you can't just spam the chainsaw like you could in the past.
Secrets and exploration are back. It's amazing how happy that makes me.
There is a character progression system, athough it's via item pickups rather than XP or Wolfenstein's challenge-based system.

Ha fuck it, I'm gonna order one, they won't charge you until they ship anyway (Which is June, if you order one now) and I'm really curious to try and develop something fun for it, so... yeah.

Check the video for some new stuff.
Look man, I'm insanely hyped for this game, I see a lot of comments going like "uhhh, I see no innovation in gameplay!". The way I see it, old is the new gold. This is exactly what I wanted a Doom game to be, oldschool fast, no reload, demons everywhere just plain fun!

This looks amazing, congratulations! Been wanting to replay Crysis for a while too.
Loved your trailer

Those are shots from the Gameinformer article. The whole 12 page cover story should be available really soon on their website.
Can we take a moment and gaze at this badass fucking image?
