I updated the OP with a new video for using the latest Hull Helper tools. Hopefully the video shows some of the ways to quickly build complex hulls with minimal fuss. If your Hull Helper UI doesn't match the video, just update WW.

Are you able to talk about any of the work you're doing on Black Mesa? Would be interesting.

What I mean by that is, for example McCree. His stun ability is beyond infuriating that you can do nothing about. You round a corner and he's there, pop you ded. Roadhogs chainhook pull that you can do nothing about (made even worse when you feel that you were behind a corner but the game disagrees with you) Tracers bomb that sticks to you, she's already OP enough in my eyes. Reapers "lol fuck your damage can't hit me" ability. And his Q 2 win key as well to go with that.

There are several others but these mentioned are the common examples that I come across the most. Playing as any of these guys IS fun of course. But going against them I just want to throw my keyboard out of the window sometimes. It might be fun for that one person playing as any of those heroes but jesus does it get frustrating going against their abilities at times.

Will still buy game of course, I like it. Every game has something that frustrates someone.

I've heard rumblings that Mccree is OP so I don't think that's a stretch. Tracer is annoying to fight but it can be done. I think the main problem with fighting any of the heroes is how fast you die, one minute your alive and the next your dead, sucks if its because of a Bastion camping in the corner.

All of that is why I look forward to ranked mode. If I'm going to die in a sudden brutal way, it might as well be in a competitive setting so I get what I bargained for

So, after a fair bit of use, I'm pleased with the Vive. When you get "presence" it is quite magical. So magical and so novel that it's tempting to write a million paragraphs exploring the nuances of my experience. As for the not so cool stuff, it's probably exactly what you expect for an early adopter type device. The hardware is generally fantastic (if a bit heavy on your face). The software, on the other hand, has a lot of catching up to do. It's weird to think that a futuristic high-tech device has just come out, and it's the software that's lagging behind. Thankfully, software can be patched!

Genji is an absolute blast to play.. love how much the levels open up when you play him (and reflecting Bastion's turret sprays into his stupid, lifeless robot face is great).

This is probably already planned no doubt but an art breakdown on some of the environment art in this game would be killer. I was shocked to see how many of the walls have 90 degree corners in the geo but are masked with some clever normal map placement. It sells it very, very well.

The game indeed is a masterclass in the use of normal maps. Technical articles on Overwatch would be very welcome!

The scale and pace look really fast and huge for WW1 which was kind of a clunky awkward war, but I guess shitty tin-can tanks putsing around the battlefield ineptly didn't make for good trailer material.

just installed mine today! Set-up isn't as bad as people say, just the number of wires is very intimidating at first. ONce you calm the F*ck down and actually look at it, it's more doable. Youtube videos definitely help. So far, this is my favorite:

This is a fun fuckin game! I really enjoy even the heroes I hate (BASTIONNN!!!)

At first I played Pharah a lot, then I tried out the other offensive classes, today I really enjoyed playing Mei, I got some Bastion in on King's Watch, played some Widowmaker too. I honestly like all of the classes in the game, and the levels play well... all this must have been a real pain to balance, but it's worked out beautifully. The only classes I've tried and really didn't connect with were Hanzo (really difficult to play seemingly) and Zarya (didn't see the point). I need to play some of the engineer class soon, and D.Va. There are just so many classes it seems like, definitely a lot of depth to be had even if the gameplay feels like a weird mix of competitive and casual right now. Ranked matches are going to be great whenever that gets released.

Feels weird "liking" a post like this, but the beauty of this scene rivals the tragedy of it.

I always found it amazing that people went into the reactor to build the sarcophagus, it's just such a dramatic series of events, sort of like a Russian 9/11 but even more insane because the enemy is nature/mankinds own technological hubris

I dunno until proven otherwise this just reminds me of Halo Forge, a console map editor pretty much. Actually the entire game just reminds me way too much of Halo in general...

it's so messy that I don't even see why these should be cool kills.

    haters gonna hate!

It's definitely too noisy, left arms flailing around looks terrible, HUD incredibly generic and style less, gameplay uneventful, movement looks kinda clunky, ragdolls look awful and kills don't seem very satisfying.

Despite it all, still looks fun and pretty though. I think Cliffyb has good instincts on fun factor usually. It reminds me of meatspace combat from Dystopia mod if anyone remembers that

It looks like a strong start as Squad said. In way of crit, I'm noticing a consistent thing where all your roofs kind of have the same height. Mix it up , make sure things are sometimes on different levels, and it should be more interesting. Photographic reference is helpful for that. I notice that it might help make your building trims on each individual building feel more real as well, if you're looking at photos for inspiration on those kinds of details.

    Keep going!
