The most played videogame in the world changes a lot throughout the years. I don't foresee LoL being number one forever...

and when I say niche, I think I meant genre more. Remember when the FPS genre was on top? I think the novelty of the MOBAs will wear off to some degree, although it is probably a more casual friendly genre than shooter games.

Yeah I totally agree with the cannibalizing point. I think this is where I begin to shit my pants if I'm Riot Games, my biggest and basically only franchise is LoL, and bigger more established game companies are edging in on my little niche turf.

Yeah it definitely meets that description. It's interesting to see the MOBA-scene turn into a frenzy. More competition for League, we'll see what happens I guess.

I would say I'm not totally vibing on the traditional philK orange/blue or the seriously halo4 vibes in either shot. I don't think the right balance has been struck yet, personally. Mirrors edge didn't do sort of generic blorange too much, at least not in that sort of a straightforward manner, and I think the halo4 style of geometry is so hard to do without seeming cluttered and messy and reinforcing the lack of purpose. I think the answer really does go back to asking yourselves, "when people sit around and talk about this scene, what actually are they going to refer to this scene AS?" If you say "generic pretty sci-fi area" that impresses way less than "hi-tech laser drill in a mountainous area"... stating the obvious of course, but my point is really that this decision will aid you in your visual design which seems a tad discombobulated for my eyes.

I decided to go the length of editing over the UVs and it didn't turn out so bad. i suspect this is the problem. using the texture editor face selection tool, select every face except for the displacement-desired face, and delete using the displacement tool.
