  • Off site work?

It's not the work or pay that isn't optimal, just the working environment. I just don't like being at home all the time, not meeting new people etc.

I currently work in this way but will be applying soon to a company that is local to me (england) unless a second project opens up that im really keen to work on.

I have found i really don't enjoy working from home after the novelty of the first couple of weeks wears off. It takes a lot of concentration to keep working within 9-5 since you are not in a proper working environment. I've also found i miss a lot of the socialising with coworkers that actually being on site with something / school provides.

I'm also getting screwed by the conversion between $ and £ right now as my salary is in dollars.

I love the work im doing (level design/modelling) but would prefer to be going into work to do it!

    ed-

hey satan, what made you decide to leave splashdamage? I've considered applying there in the near future and was just wondering what you thought about the place?

    Quote from Minotauro

Yeah mapping for INS is really satisfying

i giggled like a school girl when my hopes that the tank turret and body were seperate models turned out to be true.

also there's a lot of stuff from maps i assume are either canned or still in the works in the models folder.

cant wait till i have time to use it all

fyi i dont actually agree with the decision to ban the game (i've never even played a manhunt game) all i meant was that the decision seemed to have at least had some rational thought put into it. Usually all you hear is 'so and so is terrible, you drive around shooting people for points etc' but at least here they beleived there was a significant lack of meaning or justification behind the rampant killing to balance out the pure acts of wantum violence. However this may not in fact be true as a bbc new report on this (i know the mainstream media is hardly the place to get real info on this) mentioned that in the game you are imprisoned, ala saw, by someone and then upon your escape seek to get revenge on those who captured you. Sounds like emotional justification to me.

Doesn't look all that impressive from the small shots. Looks like a precurser to the doom 3 engine

seems to be quite a lot of detail at the tip of the gun that the player will only actually see maybe 30% of the time

Very nice. I think it would benefit from a bit of contrast in the lighting, maybe have the dark areas (shielded from the moonlight) as the current env light colour and the exposed areas caught in a brighter moon light? The skybox moon just seems so large and bright to me for the light it is actually casting.
