We have just distributed a new server version named R7 to the server hosts.
Early signs from the hosts are good with 20% less load on the server CPU, improved hit detection, Veteran rank handling is fixed so you should get your M1 Garand back now plus some other fixes to better help the server hosting companies and better management of Punkbuster ID's.
About fucking time.

I prefer Conquest. If the teams were autobalanced then I would enjoy Rush a lot more. It's a great gamemode when the teams are balanced though.

Those shadows remind me of GTA4. They look awful.

Music, yep. But only for a taster. If I like the music presented in one album then I'll more then likely buy the rest of their stuff. Games, nope. The time it takes to download the game then find a legitimate crack is not worth the effort when you can just as easily buy the thing off Steam and have it tied to your account for eternity so you don't end up losing the game. But I'll happily pirate Photoshop and 3DS Max because - let's face it - nobody in their right mind would purchase a license when they're only using it for personal use.

Yeah, there doesn't seem to be any attempt at balancing the teams. It's more annoying when - despite changing the map several times - the teams will always remain the same. This allows one team to consistently rape the other team across multiple maps. (Until player's start dropping out, of course)

Anyway I played some SP earlier and was slightly annoyed that the FOV was stuck at default. Why?! I have it at 90 in MP so it should apply to SP as well!

Is there some way to view other player's ping? On the scoreboard there's a column title completely obscured by the K/D ratio string ("MP_KILLS_AND_DEATHS"). What the hell is it? I ask because the bullet registry is fucking awful now compared to how it was a few days ago. It's as bad as it was in the beta before they patched it.

Waiting for an enemy engineer to leave his tank to repair it then stealing it = Hilarity.

Shit me. Valve had dropped something here that will go down in history as something incredibly substantial! I wonder if it would be possible to somehow run the OpenGL version of Source through Linux?
-
I didn't come across any bugs when I played it. None that I can remember anyway. Still, the server browser is rubbish. Unlike most other games - where the search results are displayed as it searches - this game does a full search before displaying anything. Boo.
-
Played it for 5 hours straight. It's excellent.
-
Either Source will be run with a wrapper akin to WINE or Valve have created an OpenGL render path. Hmm. I'd rather have Linux support though I'm aware of how it would be next to impossible for Valve to offer support for all the possible Linux distros.

Oh wow. I simply cannot wait for this! This is going to be thee aesudansocvnjsjsawadsdmnasdasdasda. Fucking yawn.

The combat has been A LOT better in the last update then it was before. Shame that the BETA ends so early.

...then a cargo container!

Sounds great. I've always found it frustrating how many bullets it takes to kill someone even at close range!

PC version has been downright cancelled.
QuoteInterestingly, Microsoft claims that the PC version has been cancelled because the PC platform is "too intimate"."Some games are more suited for the intimacy of the PC, and others are best played from the couch in front of a larger TV screen," a Microsoft spokesperson told Strategy Informer.
"We ultimately realised that the most compelling way to experience Alan Wake was on the Xbox 360 platform, so we focused on making it an Xbox 360 exclusive. Both Microsoft and Remedy have long histories in PC game development. This decision was about matching this specific game to the right platform."
Easily the most downright silly reason I have ever come across for cancelling a port.
