It looks good.a little 3 minute paintover, if you get the general ideas

Also, if I were you I would play with 1) color correction 2) building textures or 3) lighting to try to match the map to a one or two color in order to kind of create a vibe and a mood for the map overall. You could leave everything just standard daytime, but I think saturating the lighting would give the map alot more personality and help it "glow".
Hey I just noticed this post. Thanks for the tips, I will get on it most definitely.
I planned on everything you drew to be in the final version, except for the tree. This was just a minor update. The reason I didnt plan on having trees was because this whole road is a bridge, do you think trees could grow there? Meh, I might add them either way

Very awesome stuff. I love all of it but those horrendous pillars. Model them too as its obvious that you can get custom assets in-game

-
Got some more done.
Every floor of every house on the bridge will be enterable
-
Or you could do what I might do with my DoD:s map, and release both a night and day version.
-
It looks awesome, I just wish you didnt make it at night so we could see all the details

-
I CANT FUCKING WAIT FOR THIS GAME WWOWOWOWO
But yeah I need my new system soon so I can run this bad boy full at 2560 x 1600

well, 10 minutes is long, but optimizing in outdoor maps is a bit harder than indoor i guess.
Yeah I know, 10 minutes is unbearable

Maybe there is something I can figure out. It makes me wonder what its like to compile a Valve made map, but I doubt they give a shit because they do have compile farms, those lucky bastards.
-
So guys, I am not really used to making a DoD:s map, and I mainly do underground stuff, so a normal JP map fully compiled would have a 1-2 second Vvis time. My last test compile was a 10 minutes Vvis would you guys say that is around normal because of how many buildings there are and how you can enter most of them?
-
I feel like when you update, nothing gets changed, RELEASE ALREADY!

-
I like that railroad, but I am not sure if a train can go on such steep slants especially with such a sharp turn

No, most definitely not. Go look at almost all of Valve's maps. Almost all of them have enterable areas that are 120 units tall, with 8 units for the floor.

that coming from you just made my day
I dont see why you hate me, I dont even know you

Okay Mr. "mapping god" what the hell should I do with this building then?

-
Quote from FMPONE
I've been saying for a while that the basic idea was dumb
if you sat there and looked at it objectively you'd see the building makes 0 sense (not to mention it looks ugly and generic)
Hey ass, rather than just insulting why not give me crits on how to make it better. I am really getting tired of your worthlessness
-
Do you not see the mortar bomb hole on the first floor?

-
What are you talking about boy? There is plenty left to hold it up, holy wow can I ever please you guys? Good lord, I have no idea what there is left to do!!! I listened to everyones ideas/fixes only to be presented with more that could have been brought up at an earlier time.

I think what ruins the house is the fact that the interior is still so intact.. Theres this huge hole in the wall that is definatly cause by some explosion, it just doesnt seem like there has been an explotion around it
Hmmm, I see what you mean, I will work on that later
Well here is my last update for a while as I need to get back to orangemapping and get the layout done so I can test with a bunch of friends. (anyone want in?)

But yeah, that will be the most destroyed house (except maybe one of the spawn areas, but that doesn't really matter as it wouldn't effect gameplay

Also +1 for PONE's lolshack.
WTF? I took that shot..........clearly hoping people would notice the nerdy "LOL" so whats this giving him the credit stuff nigguh?
Quote from FrieChampReally cool photos - is that a doorway down there at the bottom of the cliff in the 2nd picture? Awesome

Yes, its a famous door in the area. Ironically its called Rochester Door (ORIGINAL) but it leads to a enormous underground tunnel system that leads to the top of the waterfall to the right (not in the shot) But the only problem is there is only two ways to get to it, rafting or repelling. So in a few weeks some friends of mine and I are going to raft there and check it out.
Quote from Rick_Deh I don't think that was the point?
I dunno I think they look awesome but I'm weird like that ;D
Quote from Rick_Dyeah, hot references here, the foliage stuff is really nice - I'm jelaous I live in a place lacking of this kind of awesome
Thanks man, and trust me, a place with a lot of abandoned buildings is never a good sign for the local economy
