no there are special printers availble for printing in A0 (Letterformat^
(in germany we call it DIN for Deutsche Industrie Norm and define everything with it). we have one in our church-community to print out posters for our events and stuff and you can easily print paper with up to 1 meter length.
uhm - crysis still costs 50€ and the addon is about to be released for another 30€ that makes 80€ for one game - at least I didn't see anything new in what's supposed to be an addon - heck every sims (2) addon offers more new stuff to the base game (ok maybe they are hiding the big clue from the trailer but they better wouldn't so some people get interested in buying this).
I worked on a couple of mods before but nothing too big (on my end - Move In! and Black Mesa are both pretty kick ass but my contribution was minor compared to the size of the mods). But yes I'm working on two smaller projects right now (only maps but with full custom-content hopefully) and might join into a big mod-team again...
Valve announced yesterday (or better: A Valve employee posted in the steam boards) that they currently have to many requests for games to be released on steam and they need more people urgently to speed up the release-process at steam. seems like BCR became a victim of this but it's only a matter of time until it's released on steam as well...
one thing is I didn't had to do the military service or alternative service and so I'm a year younger than everyone else in the course I suppose so I can still quit next year and still be avg age to start with another study path (I don't think I'll do but it's an option I still got).

use photoshop. it can import PDFs with no problems at all and you can go for most badass resolutions you want. and don't split it to pages just use a plotter (Din 0 should do the deal)
anyone up for a new enviroment design?

see background - forrest and stuff (could be something like russian woods (white forrest tf2ish?)). oh and natascha seems pretty cool for non-aggressive heavies.
so SA is right and the shotgun replacement will be burgers and sandwhiches i guess?
might be the textures (philipk if im not mistaken?) - 90% of theyr usage was in source maps ![]()
IO - developing in basements ins fun ![]()
I'm not sure about my university stuff as many said that a specific gamedesign course may not be that good. Though the course I'll be attenting (just got the mail
) is more about Digital Media in general with a focus on Games. It combines programming lessons, art lessons, marketing and design. all state of the art (all practical stuff is going to be cryengine 2, complete new movie and soundstudios bought this summer)... (and the best: it doesn't coast anything apart from the regular public university fee (210€ for the semester)
go for the lights.rad file (or something like that) - you can there type in which textures will be calculated esp as lightresources by the rad compilation. if you wanna fake a little it may also be usefull to add selfillumination to the textures in question
sounds like a mixup of Lost and Bioshock. Coming along nicely!
oh the intension was to do something like a 1960s SciFi Computerstation but I gave up after 10 Minutes because I forgot everything about 3Ds Max I had ever known
somehow depressing but currently learning again ![]()

thought I'd go back to modelling now. but it seems i've forgotten simply everything about it... need to relearn now ![]()
the mood in this is awesome but i think the building in the far left is a bit too sharp
And the TF Blog states:
QuoteIncoming Heavy!
August 11, 2008 - Robin Walker
We've been a little quiet for the last week as we've put the finishing touches on the Heavy update. We thought the Pyro pack was the biggest we'd be doing for a while, due to the large changes to the Pyro, but the Heavy update has turned out to be even bigger. In addition to the three unlockable weapons and thirty-five achievements for the Heavy, we've got a new game mode with five new maps for it, a new Payload map focusing on more open spaces than Goldrush, and another popular community-made map. Throughout the rest of the week we'll be giving you the details on all this, and if all goes well, you'll have your hands on it shortly afterwards.
The community-made map included in the Heavy update is cp_steel, by Jamie 'Fishbus' Manson. After the Pyro update we received a lot of email telling us how wrong we were in our choices, and cp_steel was an easy next choice due to the way it dominated the suggestions. If you're firing up your email right now to tell us that we never get anything right, please include suggestions of what map(s) we should be looking at next.
We'll be updating A Heavy Update site with more info daily. Stay tuned!
A Heavy Update is said to roll in next tuesday (well it's THE heavy update)
http://steamgames.com/tf2/heavy/
every day some new infos, starting this week with CP_Steel, awesome custom map. Fun fact: Just before Doug Lombardi dropped in with the infos our editorial staff at HLPortal was discussing to have community matches of cp_steel the whole next week...
The new weapons will be presented (which can be stretched to three days) but there are two more news to be revealed ![]()
Quote from MinotauroUse hard edge brushes instead, they will give you a much better visual.
yes i was looking into this as well but couldn't find a decent one yet. mind to share which brushes you use?
seems to be the answer to microsoft chosing Havok for all theyr game studios and future releases (as does Intel and AMD/ATI with theyr hardware support). Word on the streets is havok will be part of the next DirectX
