well they gave me a copy by now and i did not need to buy the game for using the editor stuff. and they are not teaching the tools but I'm participating in an elective which is held by some crytek guys where we do use the cryengine for realising a game concept.

Strogg do you know by any chance Simon Klein? Give him a shout from me

wow how could that happen? I don't know about US laws but over here you need to have special winter-tires during november till march and if you are travelling such a region you need steel wheels or you get stopped, pay 500€ and will be send back... o_O

it really adds to the greatness if you see all the first versions and tons of references pene collected for it - great job and the gameplay really improved with the last versions!

well sentura i gave a couple of additional points and already posted my 2cents on this. read the rest of the post.
also: the pound isn't really that strong. last week i could get some of it at 1:1 ratio for euro, hence why the first ones in the G of B are thinking about joining the Euro already...

Not to sound fanboyish here or over protecting but:
It's pretty usual that North America is cheaper than europe (check out what you pay for camera-lenses or graphic cards or wacoms).
Valve is going to lower prices on theyr own products, as stated
Other publishers have been more expensive on steam before for EU sells and basically stayed more expensive. This is an issue on the publishers site not Valve's.
The prices for Steam sells have been avg close to what you payed in a real store because most publishers fear that GameStop and consorts would boycott them in case theyr online distrib would be so cheap it'd destroy the retail selling numbers
What Valve CAN do:
Lower theyr Steam fees for publishers and encourage them to lower the final prices
Use a more appropiate algorithm to convert Dollar to Euro (Easy exchange rate WON'T do it because the purchasing power differs as well between these two economical zones)
Add something to the contracts that prices need to be at least as low as the MSRP for the retailers

Well I'm doing basically the exact same course (a bit more with focus on the theories behind animation and story telling) and it doesn't cost me anything apart from some subscribing fee... personally I don't know if I'd be willing to spend so much money for education.
Congrats anyways and - as pointed out - great portfolio!

looks like the devs took inspiration from the Black Mesa Mod but were not capable to build it properly.

The SDK is to be released "soon" (Google for "Valve Time" to find out what's the meaning of "soon")

Wales is, as the rest of Great Britain, totaly awesome in terms of landscape. However I found south England and North scotland to be much more appealing in terms of cultural sightseeing.
You should also look into travelling iceland. They have a pretty damn financial crisis atm but the country is made of win. It's right on the way if you fly back to america or before you get to europe and it really has some of the greatest nature you'll ever see.

My PC crashed for the first time in 3 years during this show. I take this as an omen. Wasn't very interesting, Yatzee was the only one really good talker, the two others seemed to be idiots. Oh and they filmed that on a Bluescreen or what? because it seems they have some damn edges around them if they move to fast...

Sindwiller - i was only referring to my lack of knowledge of touristic spots in these regions, not that there ain't any.
-
yea Bern is pretty nice and you may check out Geneva and see CERN or what's left of it anyway

For Balkan - I have absolute no idea about these countries what's touristic appealing. Belgrad doesn't seem to be a too safe place to be, neither is the Kosovo or Zagreb. Albania could be possible though. Oh and for Greek - no way around tourists, the whole country is one big Tourist place. For smaller towns you could check out Navplia (not sure if the spelling is correct) which hosts a castle of the bavarian king of greece and has some pretty nice spots overall. It's not too crowded and it offers something different than one-million temples in a row. Also check out the spartan region, it's got some pretty nice spots as well. I'd avoid Athens how ever, apart from the akropolis, because that city is just one big mess. I've never seen a town so unappealing as athens. it might be the part of athens I've been at but that city is noisy, it smells and most of the folks is unfriendly if you don't speak greek with athen-accent.
if you have the chance you may also travel to Kreta or Santorini. Kreta holds a whole lot of cultur (Min0s friend Minotauro s coming from there) and Santorini is basically the most awesome place on earth if you're into Lost Coast. Volcano in the mid of the mare nostrum with a village in the cliffs

So I'm looking into picking up a wacom bamboo for mobile usage as they are pretty cheap and the weight and size is ideal for the laptop-bag. But right now I'm a bit confused: Wacom offers 3 variations (and 2 sizes) of the Bamboo. Bamboo one is the cheapest and seems to have obvious flaws, but
Bamboo Fun and Bamboo seem to be technical identical and the only thing different is the case and buttons it's wrapped in? The Bamboo Fun holds a bit more software which I'll basically never need (PS Elements and Win98 ArtRage2), and it's the only thing I can see why it'd be 20 bucks more expensive over the Bamboo.
Any experiences, tips, insights on the topic?
