what Mazy said - maybe it would have been better to set up a new ip if they change it from jungles to something different as well.

i love #1 and #3. #2 is nice and #4 is a little bit avg.
#1 is just pure awesomeness in mood and color, and #3 is one hell of a nice set up for a "snapshot"
well, imagine someone changes counter-strike to "respawn times" and "territory control". wtf? no one would ever dare do that, apart it looks more like this was internal testing stuff for DoD or TF games.
ah c'mon it's even in that site's comments:
Quotemoocow21 at 05/28/2009 09:33 I'm somewhat dubious. It is VERY unlike Valve to pump out a sequel to a game only a year or two after the last game came out -- especially for multiplayer games where they tend to actually support their game with free, new content and updates for a few years instead of dropping it and tossing out a sequel. If this is true, I'll be slightly disappointed in them.
spot on. L4D2 is not an option (although Gabe might prove me wrong in a week), if it's MP it's either another IP (which doesn't sound too great either, seeing TF2 and L4D + CS in all it's versions pretty much covers all of the market there is (with little share to CoD and BF series), and splitting up an existing IP (like Counter-Strike) doesn't sound too much like Valve as well (though they might just scrap CS:S and build a CS2, but I doubt that, too). So the key is: Single Player. Either they are for something like a CS:CZ 2 (With CoOp and SP and maybe some major upgrade to CS:S MP) or Episode 3 (long time only little hints so maybe) or Portal 2 (which sounds most likely to me). Further options would be: The Wii-Game Gabe's been dreaming of, an RTS/MMORPG (which they said they would be interested in - something like the seven Hour war game) or Duke Nukem Forever (don't take it too serious here
).
well, not telling anything here, but word on the streets is yes.
what the heck does the onos have tank-plates on his feet for?
you don't need no big uv-mapping skills for this kind of building if you're afraid of it. just get some nice 512² tiling surfaces for what you need, crop them to one image (one 2048² splitted in 4 for example) and just position the uv-coordinates of your faces in the fitting part. That's not too much, you don't have to worry about anything and it will give you a decent enough result, working in max and cryengine.
that's not an architectural style, more the kind of "game-developer tries to make something look sci-fi-cool".
woud search for Oilrig, Industrial and another reference might be Half-Life (1), esp. Lambda Core (also look for the BMS remake of that part).
nice
hoe to see more, kind of reminds me of airborn (palette, saturation, theme)

Chunks: Latin as second language is no problem - I myself had Latin from 5th year to 11th and only chose english as third language (7th to 13th). With that latin I learned back then I can read most of spanish, portugese, french and italian texts (although it might take a little longer).
2d-chris: I can see your point of one single language being easier, but at least for as far as I am concerned, I'd rather stay with my mother-tongue as it is more than just a bunch of grammar-rules and vocabularies, but a kind of identification and it expresses due to it's sounding and construction alot about the connected society and it's traditions and values. Kind of old example (which I can't prove, but it's something I read in a linguistics book years back): The Eskimos have more than 15 words for snow, while if they translate it to english it just stays "snow" - their special connection to snow and ice is expressed through theyr language. Same goes for german, where we created 20 words for different beer kinds, and if you look at the card in an anglo-sachsian restaurant it just says "Beers". On behalf of the grammar, german is much stricter than spanish for example and it kind of fits the stereo-type of the persons you connect with it. And last but not least: There has been a common language in science twice before in history: Until the early 17th century, most scientists spoke latin, then until some point in the early 20th century german was the language of choice and then english became the major language in scientific communication.
Hourences/Gloglebag: Don't see this. We still dub all of our shows and everyone I know speaks fluent english.
notice the black cigarette.
well seeing how many people at polycount and mapcore adore your work, I think there will be alot of custom content in the beginning. maybe you should wait with a free version for two months or so and see what the sales are doing, and if not good enough just re-release (as L4D did with that DLC) and release a free version then.
they are even funnier, comparing them to the german april 1st messages we spread this year (all major german half-life/steam websites in common) telling that valve would let off 60% of theyr employees and now they post these stories ![]()
yes forget about restricting. someone will eventually hack it anyways in that case or the restrictions will be either too hard and therefore destroy the positive image or won't be hard enough to justify spending 20$.
although games are being developed in english in germany as well, and as e.g. crytek shows you can easily migrate people from all around the globe.
doesn't work. people won't buy if they can play a free version.
she's the pyro.
seeing how much support RO got, tripwire will sure (if the sells are high enough) support this baby for a long time as well.
