if you want something like the second one look for used Bundeswehr Stiefels (boots). Kind of the Springerstiefel design.

Have you read "A theory of fun" by Raph Koster? I'm sure you'd get a kick out of it! Seriously though, no design team on earth would waste a minute of production time in a meeting discussing these things, nor is it going to help the OP find a good book about level-design...

it's a good read but i found it to be a bit to plain in retroperspective. it's nice if you use it as a guide line and with every topic he brings up look for further second literature (like psychology books, mathematical numeric and stuff).

not to start a discussion here but you can see the same in all armed conflicts from all involved parties. though it's icognographic for the israelian warfare.

Yeah I was looking into arduino for the motor control stuff. I'm not sure if it'd be able to handle digitally shifting an audio signal, but we'll see.. thats for next semester For now, I'm done with being a junior and just enjoying my time off! Although it seems I end up working on this project if I sit still for too long...they've made a workaholic out of me.

in the end it comes to the mathematical representation of your frequences and that should be easily possible. i don't know about the exact workflow between processing and arduino (going into this in january on a class) but i did some heavy sound work with processing last semester and it's awesome.

"The Passing" Brings L4D1 Survivors Down SouthDecember 14, 2009 - Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Half-Life, Portal, Team Fortress, and Counter-Strike) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced the first game add-on for its co-operative zombie thriller, Left 4 Dead 2 (L4D2), is in development and targeted for release in early 2010.

Dubbed "The Passing," the first game add-on for L4D2 brings the original Left 4 Dead (L4D1) Survivors down south for a meeting with the L4D2 cast, while delivering new single-player, multiplayer and co-operative gameplay for the PC and Xbox 360.

Targeted for release in early spring, "The Passing" takes place just after the Dead Center campaign of L4D2. Set in a small town in rural Georgia, players assume the role of the L4D2 Survivors as they meet with the L4D1 characters.

In addition to the new co-operative campaign and associated narrative, "The Passing" will include new arenas for Survival, Versus and Scavenge mode and introduce a new co-operative challenge mode of play. The Passing will also include a new "uncommon common" zombie class, melee weapon, and firearm.

"The Passing will become the most important campaign in the Left 4 Dead story, as all the Survivors are being called together in one campaign," said Doug Lombardi, VP of marketing at Valve. "It will also be a huge offering of new gameplay content, with something new for every game mode plus a new uncommon common and weaponry."

    [blah...]

Left 4 Dead 2: The Passing is targeted for release in early spring for the PC and Xbox 360. Pricing will be announced closer to launch.

you could always try to work with arduino and processing, it's pretty easy and slick.

trying to think of some kind of super nerdy outfit or something so i can be detected. i'll send my mobile number to you via PM now.

For a current project I need to export to B3D (irrLicht Engine). How ever the only working Exporter is written for 3Ds Max 2008 and below. I'm sitting on a machine using 2009 and university is using 2010 so both versions don't work.

Has anyone still a TRIAL installer (i'm not asking for any illegal cracks/serials here) of the 2008 version (or max9 or max8)?

i'd go more into detail but the project is from an outside company given to our student team and i don't want to mess with the NDA.
