Thank you Corwing. That solved it!!! (Easiest way is not use the pipet to select a material, but select a rock with correct textures and pick from selection and then assign to (select to be changed rock) selection).

OK, I'm still working on that stuff and just wanted to use a bit different geometry for the rocks, but there's this problem:

Those Screens look decent! Seems like solid work you've done there.
The point about the Download Link is it should be huge and first thing you see (after the Screenshots) - you sell a product, so you should make it as availble as possible.
On the BaE - When I asked around what I should teach at my Photoshop Tutorials, alot of professionals put it like that: "It's only a good use of filters and layer styles if you can't see it's a filter or layer style".

well after some googling on it i got to a simmilar result, slightly higher though. They said MP2 sold about 2 million units and as seems was called a disappointment because they clearly had higher expectations after the first one (4 to 5 million).
From a personal perspective I'm not surprised though. MP2 was one of the more expensive titles at release, especially considering the short duration and some of the heavy AI-Bugs.
I may sound like a PC-Fanboy, but such a decision against the PC-Market from both Remedy and Microsoft really lowers my respect to these companies (resp. the department in charge).

Have we any numbers of the Max Payne sells? Honestly, to me it just looks as if Microsoft is trying to prolong the Xbox' life-cycle and set a comparsion mark to the upcoming PS3 exclusives (Heavy Rain kind of attracts the same audience i could imagine).

f*cking publisher not making it availble there. it's a shame, really. one could argue it's our govermental age restrictions and the likes and steam not supporting a legit enough age-verification, but in the end it comes down to the publisher...
-
Very cool presentation. Not sure about your choice of engine though. Hard to get people onto the openSource rail... Good luck

Three things:
Screenshots
Download Link
No Bevel and Emboss, Outer Glow and the likes.

i got my university library to buy it and it just came last week so i now have (both) lying on my desk here... great read hourences, and i did recommend it to everyone in the course already (they usually go and buy the stuff after they read it so that might be a few more sells for you).

Thanks a hell lot! Gonna answer this in german, easier to lay out.

yes, true. one constrain of the course we're doing this in is - however - to use crysis assets as much as possible (i think there will be some custom models, but only for landmarks, not for these rocks). art-pass for that matter is detailing out, don't know if there's any better word than that to use?
-
Working on the artpass/beautification of this awesome racetrack - learning to use all of the CE(2)'s features is great fun but I feel like I know all assets by heart by now and it feels damn slow to work on this (whole racetrack is like more than 2 kilometers and I work in 50 meter sets).
Anyway:

It's only about breaking up cliffs and the likes on a racing track (it's in the WIP in WIP) for better visual reading... But seems I'm going with models for most of it as it works out ahell lot faster (did open official maps but couldn't find too simmilar situations but had a look at Helder's Volcano and it's most of the time models there).
-
I tried googleing it but there's a question driving me mad on detailing terrain:
In order to break up large cliffs do you
a) place models
b) paint voxels
? Anyone having an input on this?

big time congrats

We didn't do a group picture this time, so this should do.
Two programmers (crytek) on the far left end of the table, then robert (bja) and helder (hp), chris (2d-chris) and francois (furyo), me and michael (s-e), simon (guy from keen games) and philip (guy from h_da) and then rick (rick_d).
You don't see everyone in the picture though but that's about as much as you can get. Good times everyone, next time Darmstadt, right chris? Two top highlights - helder throwing stuff at everyone and the waitress asking if we would be one family meet-up and being totally confused what the heck a game-designer does

-
yes i just said, i welcome that. Like in "hey it's cool to see this".
maybe i should dub it to german so it's easier to understand :megaman:
any updates on the second one?
-
yes but building something like this on your own is rather not so much game related, and I think we see diy-stuff way to little on mapcore.
-
awesome - kind-of-not-game-related-art you've got there. would like to see if you can push it further and develop another case (though I don't know anything about these nostalgic-controlers how they play and stuff).
-
why not just release it on steam like any other game and you can choose between all supported languages? what's the great feature here?
