Nah, the story will work fine without the first two games.

FFS. Stop it. :monocle:
the BM team will share whatever, whenever they want. even if they'd fail to do so, it's not up to us to start a personal flame war about it.

well, i spend at least an hour in the first level on my playthroughs, as i tried to stealth kill everyone. I guess if you go stealth soldier through the whole game you can easily play 24 hours. that said, 9 hours sounds reasonable.
Did you like the outro, zyndrome (or anyone who finished it)?

i don't like the new screenshot, but yeah, neither the old ones - the concept art looks great though.
The new one is missing some breakup on the surfaces - the buildings look flat and the mountains look like typical game-world borders. that said: it's an xbox game and well, it's supposed to work and make fun, which it probably will (or should i say does, from what i've played so far :S).

Unreal didn't have radiosity in it's early light model. That's why every bounce was faked with an omni light put in corners and behind obstacles. Since they baked lightmaps it didn't matter performence wise. Now with lightmass working (or any other radiosity solution like Beast for Mirrors Edge) that workflow is luckily not necessary anymore and the results look times better (at least for the average artist, I think everyone agrees that we have seen great results with the old technique as well).

Chris, i've seen our copies already, looks like an awesome pile of games

also: i depict a cinema at that time to have more text based movie anouncements as color prints were quite expensive.
your reference is really cool! how much time do you have left to work on this?
-
colors and materials could use work,
GET RID OF THE DOF!,
lighting is too yellowish.
what's the scale on this and why is it on this weird podest?
rant finished: i think the modelling looks solid

well, you heard the video, didn't ya?

well, my parents looked into doing the whole off-the-grid thing for retirment:
Solar panels are only really usable for heating and warm water - then they are really effective though and can save at least 60% gas, 90%+ if the sun is good. Needs a good water boiling and keeping system and isolation on the house though.
Wind is pretty much useless in their area. The wind needs to go at least 4 m/s iirc, and that's not the case for the position of their house. If you have enough wind, good windsystems have the advantage though that they are silent and small and for building self supply you can use horizontally aligned ones instead of vertical ones, which will also reduce the shadow-popping, which many people suffer from when they live to close to the wind turbines (high frequency shadow popping when they turn).

wow, campeon - long time no see

great to see this one finished! don't know about the gameplay yet, but the screens look ace. the only thing that might need some detail is the tunnel through the concrete. love the attention to detail on everything (like the isolation in the wooden tunnel part). Could imagine lighting could be a bit more contrasty, but maybe the current one is more suitable for a rats map.

I think the chances of doing a big indie hit wonder movie is pretty slim, while with games i see more opportunities for going indie and really getting the huge audience (and get the earnings out of it, instead of selling it to something like Warner Brothers Indie Label).
