Canon DSLR is my recommend. Seriously invest 2 Hardporn-Magazines into the Cam instead of the and get some nice lenses for it - 1cent-sized-chip-cameras suck, do grainy fotos and most used lenses on them stretch the image on the sides.

Wii is Nintendo's iPod - so said. Though the comparsion may be not entirely correct: Wii is innovative while the iPod isn't...

seir, i was going to put in my vote for you... i didn't and now i feel a little ashamed (if this is the correct term tbu here)... i think your map looked very good for that rspeed count and seemed to play good - this is what i would honor! on the other hand as there was no rspeed limit given i decided to vote on the map i thought that was good playable and best looking, because this seemed to be even a hard challange to force something outstanding looking out of hl1engine with standard content

OK, no Spambot who wanna offer you random shots in the livingroom but some photos i did today (after half a hour i finished and found out that they were all taken in iso 1600 which pretty much sucks but i didn't wanted to retake them...)

though one problem came to my mind: every ball would have just 1% oppacity then that may suck so:

i would do the whole thing once without balls in a textured level and the ball videos then in a complete white level with mat_fullbright 1 and then multiply the layers into it.

what about predoing the camera in hammer and just make the video a 100 times with 100 random ball spawns? in the end it would be just overlaying the 100 videos and have a video with 100*100 balls = 10.000 balls

guys - just to clear this: everyone in germany learns either france or english (i would say everybody)

it is like the following: the elementary school is most times educating the last two years a language in the way "count to ten, say the colors, and names of animals, learn some songs". in the upper school you then learn one to three languages.

example given: i learned two years english at elementary school, then switched to a humanist gymnasium learning latin till the 5th grade, english from the seventh grade and could have learned greek or france till 9th grade (but decided on informatical education). today they learn at that school latin and english from class and france, greek or informatics from class 8.

i think it's a little bit media-trash to say that no one here speaks a foreign language.

Most people here do speak one of the following languages (+ german):

    France

    Turkish

    Italiano

    English

    Spanish

In fact I tried out Photoshop and Gimp though Photoshop was a bit of one or two weeks until i was in and could make some good looking stuff while until today every thing i do with gimp looks like soapcreamed mustard with jelly sauce and tbh - most of the work i see around the net which is done with gimp doesn't look any better.

CS3 of Photoshop has an really advanced script-language and you can also create plugins for older photoshop versions, it is just a little more complex ^^

Gimp is something I would not recommend. Go with IrfanView, it is simple, can handle nearly every fileformat out there (witht the pluginspackage (<1mb)) and the only thing is that the jpeg compression is only upto level 10 (equivalent to photoshop but ps offers a compression format 11 and 12) - which may be visible on plain text sometimes. Gimp is just to overpacked without a really thinking of what the user needs. it trys to immitate photoshop tools but what helps a bunch of 200 tools if you can not control them correctly or don't even find half of them...
