If only my university network didn't block the use of bittorrent... ![]()
Nice donation anyway Hessi, gutted I'm gonna miss out.
Wow, metal really came together at the end there, nice!
You might want to find an image host with less dodgy adverts. I personally think imageshack.us is unbeatable (especially with firefox ImageBot plugin). You can hotlink and no adds and with ImageBot you can upload tons of pics by just dragging and dropping and generate BB code for multiple images in 2 clicks.
I'm very interested in this mod, hopefully when I gain some experience with Source I might one day be able to contribute ![]()
Shit, that's amazing FMPONE! ![]()
Yeah good call Rick. I guess more than a second's glance at the pics and anyone woulda noticed.
I know what Goldsource means, it just bothers me... because in however many years of HL gaming and mapping no-one has ever called it that and now all of a sudden it's Goldsource this and Goldsource that. Bollocks I say!
See in that quote of e-freak's they use it 3 frickin times in 2 sentences ![]()
what hessi and ferret lack in reading skills they make up for in... ![]()
The original of this map was one of the first custom maps I played and thus one of the maps that inspired me to become a mapper. I used to ghost around the CS mapping forums and remember downloading it and being wowed. A Source version is excellent news. Looks like a great start ![]()
When did all you posers start calling it Goldsrc, jesus... noone calls it that.. it's the half-life engine!
And yeah it looks great! ![]()
Those shots look like they'd make for great DM play with the nice height variation on those balconies, and it does look very oldschool which is a bonus. I guess mapcorians are just suckers for the prettier looking maps, don't be disheartened seir!
I'm downloading the maps now to check them out properly ![]()
Continuing to work on HL1 mods from a personal perspective isn't a waste of time. I still map for HL1. I've tried Source and have a lot of beef with the SDK which has put me off so far, nevertheless I will make the switch when it suits me. Mainly I've been mapping on HL1 for ~6 years and want to put out a release I'm proud of.
Will my maps get played? Well probably not much, but then people on these forums have equally poured months of effort into quality CS and CS:S custom maps which no-one will play either. I guess like these people I map out of enjoyment and love of the game, regardless of if it'll get playtime.
I do agree however that a mod like SC that has huge potential on Source did miss the boat a bit by not getting a Source release out sooner. I never played that mod, though I heard it was fun it did look like shite even by HL mod standards, so yeah I'm looking forward to seeing a pretty version on Source. ![]()
That's awesome leileilol. Is it going to be animated & used in anything?
Awesome! But I can't vote til I get a chance to try them all. Please keep the voting open for a while!
Astounding model though. Forgive me but the renders aren't exactly ruining it for me, looks fantastic. ![]()
Yeh pretty much. AHL and Opera. TS just did it better.
edit: damn beaten to it!
Awesome Quakis ![]()
So is there much of an community for this eduke32?
Nice Rick.
DM collaboration.... orrrr..... keep making those pretty props and save them all for HI:PR ![]()
Yeah I think he has, it's not that bad but maybe halve the number of vertical repeats and those breaks Reno mentioned. I like the scale of it though.
Some great stuff here guys, I hope you'll have a similar contest during the holidays or something so I can take part. HL1 wins. ![]()
I agree the quality varies considerably, some are a bit blurry, but some are quite solid and usable. Thanks for the upload.
