    Thanks guys, and specifically for pointing me towards that CouchSurfing program. That is essentially what I want to do; a world retreat to gain awareness of the various cultures of the world, not so much a vacation. I'd still like some more information on some great places to visit (specifically in England, Denmark, Sweden, and Italy) and areas that should definitely be avoided, perhaps from a fellow American that's traveled Europe? Thanks again!

    EDIT: Also, what are prices like over there? How much does food, transportation, museums, and so forth cost?

    I've been planning to travel the Europe for quite some time, but haven't really been able to make the financial accommodations until recently, and since I know there are a lot of Europeans here, I had a few questions for you guys.

    1) Should I purchase a motorcycle or 'hoof' it (use public transportation - on that topic, how is public transportation?)? Would my American license be valid? How would insurance work?

    2) What are some places that are pretty much a required visit, and places that should be avoided at all costs?

    3) How do I avoid being taken advantage of? :wink:

    Any other advice you guys could throw my way would definitely be helpful.

  • Episode 2 Models -> DoD: S?

    • Squirrelly

    So I've been fucking around with Hammer lately, and what I haven't fully figured out how to do is use props from one Source game and use it in another. Obviously this requires you to have Episode 2 as well as DoD: S, but I'm not worried about that since I have no plans on making any of my shitty work public. I know you can somehow import the model, but from what I've gathered you have to recompile it. Is it not possible to simply have Hammer point to the models in a specific .gcf and have it go from there? I'm sure this question has been asked before, but since my Googleing skills are pretty terrible, I thought I'd ask you fine gentleman.

    Pretty monotonous but also pretty good. There are a few areas that have been clone stamped far too many times, but otherwise the sharpness is on par, the detail is nice, and the repetitiveness is relatively low. Good work.

    If the next villain is going to be the Riddler, it damn well better be Michael Emerson.

    Thoroughly enjoyed the demo myself. You can certainly tell the developers behind System Shock are behind this simply due to the atmosphere of the game. The opening sequence was gruesome yet utterly beautiful at the same time. Pre-ordered my copy.

    Haha, pure awesomeness. GJ Mike

    Anyhow, by the looks of it, this should definitely be fun (COOP FTW!), and any game with an apocalyptic theme is worthy of my 60 smackaroos.

    Great new resource out there for all you artists. Hell, a Nuclear-Dawn developer runs the site (Robert Briscoe). I've already subscribed. I think the majority of the textures can be used as a great base, and the lord himself knows that I hate tiling bricks, so all the tiled brick references are godsend. My only complaint with the site is the overuse of the high pass filter. Some of the textures are awful due to the fact it's very noticeable he used high pass. Nothing a few clicks in Photoshop can't do to get rid of that stuff, though.
